  • Patent number: 9904443
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for synchronizing one or more mediatations with a video timeline. A mediatation may refer to any media content displayed in a separate window from a video stream. Example mediatations include, but are not limited to, portable document format (PDF) documents, text documents, and image documents. Mediatations are associated with a timeline for a video stream. As the video stream is played, different indications of mediatations may appear in a window separate from the window playing the video. A user may then select an indication of a mediatation to display the entirety of the mediatation.

  • Patent number: 7062791
Abstract: A gunn cut glove construction in which a pre-curvature at selected locations, preferably around the joints, in the fingers is achieved by sewing wedges of material into cut portions of the gunn section so that the shortened fingers and larger back sections easily meet at and can be joined without the need to gather or moccasin material resulting in the shape of the finger being such that it curves forward towards the palm section. Increased volume at the fingertips of a gunn cut construction glove is achieved by darting the palm side pieces of fingers proximate the fingertips. In addition, to reduce the inflexibility of gloves when curled into a fist, an elliptical piece is removed from the palm portion of the glove and the sides of the elliptical piece are sewn together along a seam.

  • Publication number: 20040064870
Abstract: A glove or mitten for use with a cell phone. A glove or mitten has an inner and an outer surface and is adapted to contain a wearer's hand. An opening along a surface of the thumb portion of the glove or mitten is adapted to provide access of the wearer's thumb from the inner surface through the outer surface of the glove without removing the glove. A means is provided for reversably opening and closing the opening to provide either easy access or a seal of the opening. The closure can be a zipper or hook and pile fastener and additional flaps can be added to minimize heat loss through the opening.

  • Patent number: 5857216
Abstract: A construction method for pre-curved gloves and mittens which aids in the simplification, efficiency and repeatability of assembly. Panels of the gloves or mittens are marked, prior to assembly with lines which indicate where the gathering, darting or cut and sew reduction is to occur and how much material is to be taken in. In the cut and sew reduction the extra material between the marked lines is cut and removed prior to attachment of the lines.

  • Patent number: 5822795
Abstract: A multi-layer glove or mitten incorporating an inner liner, intermediate waterproof, windproof and/or breathable membrane layer and an outer shell in which the inner liner and membrane layer are secured to each other by use of an adhesive system which provides a secure fit between the layers and inhibits the reversibility of layers when the hand is removed from the glove, as well as inhibiting the movement of the crotch regions of the membrane layer from moving away from the crotch regions of the inner liner during use. The multi-layered glove is also assembled more efficiently with improved construction techniques relating to the use of the adhesive tapes secured to the outside of the inner liner layer.

  • Patent number: 5577306
Abstract: A one-handed closure and release mechanism for selectively shortening the dimension of an item utilizing frictional engagement of a stretchable elastic cord member and a restrictive guide structure having at least two openings. In various embodiments the elastic cord member may either be secured inside a channel or fixed within an object or garment or may have two free ends extending out of the closure mechanism. The one-handed closure mechanism operates by use of the exertion of force on the one or more free ends of the stretchable elastic cord member which results in the relative proportion of the stretchable elastic cord member inside the closure mechanism being reduced which, upon release of the tension, has the effect of causing the crushing of the object to reduce the length of the channel through which the elastic cord member extends inside of the restrictive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5498472
Abstract: A wind blocking hand covering including a back portion of the hand covering formed of a sandwich of three layers of material joined by binding the three layers to each other along at least one seam. The first layer being an outer fleece layer, the second layer being a waterproof breathable layer and the third, inner layer, being adapted to contact the wearer's hand. A front portion of the hand covering formed of at least one layer of material adapted to cooperatively form a hand covering with the back portion of the hand covering when attached. Securing means for securing the back portion of the hand covering to the front portion of the hand covering to form a hand covering which is suitable for blocking wind from reaching at least the back portion of a wearer's hand. The wind blocking fabric for use in a hand covering includes a first layer of a fleece material.

  • Patent number: 5490290
Abstract: An improved design for an open fingered glove is disclosed. The traditional mechanism of attachment of the palm piece to the back piece through the use of fourchettes is eliminated and, instead, the stability of the attachment of the glove parts is provided by a by the use of connector strips made from lycra, leather or other traditional materials. The connector strips connect the sides of each finger from the palm part to the back part at a location proximate the tip of each finger and running to a point short of the crotch of each finger. Using such a construction, structural integrity may be maintained while permitting an opening to exist at the crotch of each finger, thereby providing for increased cooling of the hand.

  • Patent number: 5459878
Abstract: A protective guard suspension system for a joint covering for covering at least a portion of the wearer's hand and wrist includes an angled resilient guard member and two coupling members. The angled resilient guard member protects a portion of the wearer's hand and wrist and absorbs impact forces by reversibly deforming. The angled resilient guard member has first and second ends and an intermediate angled portion and also has first and second openings proximate to the each of the first and second ends. The first coupling couples the first end of the angled resilient guard member to the hand covering by extending through the first opening and forming a first loop at a first end of the first coupling and is coupled to the hand covering at a second end of the first coupling so that the first end of the angled resilient guard member is secured to the hand covering.

  • Patent number: 5187814
Abstract: A heated garment such as a mitten, glove or sock, for heating at least a portion of the body part with a heater pack. The mitten, glove or sock covers at least a portion of a body part and has at least one opening for insertion of the body part. A chamber assembly is coupled to the inside of the garment for creating an elongated chamber in the garment accessible through the garment opening. A pocket assembly is coupled to the garment for receiving the heater pack and is adapted to be removably inserted to the elongated chamber. Inserting the pocket assembly with the heater pack into the elongated chamber of the garment transmits heat to the wearer's covered body part in an efficient fashion without unnecessarily restricting mobility or increasing bulkiness.
