  • Publication number: 20230109922
Abstract: A floating drift apparatus for verifying the inner diameter of tubulars as the tubulars are made up into a tubular string being run into a wellbore. A float section provides buoyancy to float the apparatus in fluid within the bore of a tubular, and a drift section has a drift element with a diameter substantially equal to the tubular inner diameter being verified, which may be the drift diameter. When running a tubular string, the apparatus is inserted into the bore of the tubular string, floating in the fluid. As joints of tubular are made up and run into the wellbore, the tubulars move downhole around the apparatus. Preferably, the floating drift apparatus can be visually detected. If an undersize ID is encountered, the floating drift apparatus will be pushed downhole and no longer visible; the operator can remove the undersize ID tubular from the string.

  • Patent number: 10726490
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods discussed herein provide insurance claims adjusters with the ability to quickly label numerous photographs associated with an insurance claim. For instance, a photograph label claims tool may be installed on a computing device of the insurance claims adjuster. The photograph label claims tool may facilitate labeling and formatting of photographs taken by the insurance claims adjuster of damaged property items, which may be used to settle an insurance claim. The photograph label claims tool may then generate a document (e.g., a PDF) including each of the labeled photographs and transmit the document to an insurance provider.

  • Patent number: 8800448
Abstract: A stand-off breaching device, for breaching a target, that includes a nose at a front end which is a rounded cone-shape and configured to cause the stand-off breaching device to rebound from a target after the nose impacts the target, and a body connected to the nose and extending to a back end of the stand-off breaching device. The body includes a main explosive fill that is detonated and explodes to provide an explosive breaching force, and a delay detonator that detonates the main explosive fill and that is triggered when the nose impacts a target. The delay-detonator is configured to delay detonation of the main explosive fill until the stand-off breaching device has rebounded to a determined stand-off distance chosen to cause effective breaching of the target. The nose, body, and their components are fabricated from material that will be substantially consumed by the explosion, minimizing any fragments.

  • Patent number: 8783908
Abstract: A flashlight with light emitting diode (LED) sources that produce at least two different colors and at least two other activatable components. The colored LEDs and activatable components cycle on and off using two or three separate switches. One switch cycles preferably white LEDs on and off. Another switch preferably cycles between a non-white LEDs and two other activatable components and combinations thereof. The activatable components include strobes, sirens, GPS tracking, emergency calling, radio, weather notification, laser light, and light not visible to humans. A third switch disposed on the exterior surface(s) of the body that is operable to asynchronously cycle through the functions of the white light source, wherein the functions include blinking, strobe, pre-programmed varying visible intensity, and Morse code messages.

  • Patent number: 7506634
Abstract: An ignition timing circuit is disclosed which provides variable fuel ignition timing as a function of the rotational speed of a small internal combustion engine. A measure of the rotational speed of an engine is generated from the shape of pulses generated by a sensor. A timing delay circuit converts this measure of the rotational engine speed into a fuel ignition trigger signal with a controlled delay relative to the engine's angular position. This trigger signal activates a switching device which in turn delivers energy to the engine's spark plug system. A significant benefit of the disclosed ignition timing circuit is its ability to be enclosed in a package which is size and pin-compatible with standard silicon controlled rectifiers.

  • Publication number: 20080048595
Abstract: A reverse torque, forward commutation motor driver system for a phased motor rapidly decelerates or “brakes” the motor by exciting, in sequence, a complementary excitation signal in each normal commutation state of the forward state machine, thereby providing an active braking effect. After active braking reduces the rotational velocity of the motor below a threshold, a dynamic braking technique can replace the active braking, wherein high-side drivers are set to an opposite voltage as compared to low-side drivers.

  • Patent number: 6811367
Abstract: A device and method for one-person loading of a multi-bale hay trailer. A bale flipping frame is temporarily attached to a side rail of the hay trailer where it is guided along the side rail in order to position a bale in each bale holding location on the trailer. The mechanism includes a chassis, wheels, and an engine to power a hydraulic system for squeezing the bale from the ends, lifting the bale, flipping the bale above the bale holding location, and releasing the bale. After loading the trailer, the frame automatically disengages to be left in the field or used by another trailer while the full hay trailer is emptied and brought back to repeat the cycle to load additional bales. The mechanism may be transported by pulling it behind the trailer or a truck.

  • Patent number: 6802484
Abstract: An accessory holder designed to attach to a stand. The stand has a lower tube, a locking collet on the top of the lower tube, and a mast extending upward from the locking collet. The accessory holder has a top mount with a mast receiver that slips around the mast just over the top of the locking collet. The accessory holder also has a clip designed to slip around and engage the mast below the locking collet in the order to lock the holder to the stand. A variety of holding devices can be affixed to the accessory holder, including devices configured to hold an ashtray, a beverage, and a pick.

  • Publication number: 20040181902
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus that is used to hold a gate in an open position, once it has been opened. When the apparatus is mounted to the frame of a gate, and placed in the downward position, the gate stop device ensures the gate will remain in this open position. The gate stop device while in use, and the gate is in the open position eliminates the unwanted closure of the gate.

  • Patent number: 6776229
Abstract: A check enhancer for use in a well comprises a housing portion and an injector portion disposed in the housing portion. The housing portion includes an outer body defining a fluid cavity therein with a plurality of body ports in communication with the fluid cavity. The injector portion includes a check valve and a dispersement nipple in communication therewith. The check valve is connected to the outer body, and the dispersement nipple extends into the fluid cavity. The check valve allows fluid flow from the tubing through nipple ports defined in the dispersement nipple. The nipple ports are longitudinally spaced from the body ports so that the fluid cavity remains substantially filled with fluid with the dispersement nipple substantially submerged within the fluid.
