The new biomarker panels of this invention allow diagnosing and even stratifying various pulmonary dysfunctions in a subject, and even allow early detection of Chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD). Furthermore provided are diagnostic kits for performing the methods of the invention.

In another aspect, the invention relates to a method for producing embedded biological samples using said UV-polymerizable composition and to the embedded biological samples themselves. The biological samples can be used in a wide variety of areas, such as diagnostics among others, and are suitable in particular for RNA-based diagnostics.
