  • Patent number: 4844071
Abstract: A coupler device for coupling an endoscope to a camera head includes a housing that defines an enclosed light path extending along an optical axis between first and second end portions of the housing together with mounting components for attaching the first end portion of the housing to an endoscope and the second end portion of the housing to a camera head so that the light path extends toward the camera head. A single lens mounted within the housing intermediate the first and second end portions magnifies an image from the endoscope in order to provide a magnified image to the camera head, the lens being a single refracting optical element for magnifying the image from the endoscope that is the sole refracting optical element for magnifying the image. A quick-release arrangement in one embodiment enables attachment of the endoscope by advancing the endoscope axially without a having to rotate it while a focusing ring enables fine focusing adjustments.

  • Patent number: 4624243
Abstract: An endoscope comprising a reusable eyepiece and a disposable distal section mounted on the eyepiece in a predetermined angular orientation so that light can be conducted from the eyepiece through the distal section and an image can be conducted from the distal section to the eyepiece. Image conduction is accomplished, in part, by a somewhat resilient, nontubular image-conducting rod. Focusing is accomplished by a focusing ring which rotates, but does not translate, on the housing. The distal section is adapted to be at least partially received within a patient and can be introduced by an introducer attached to the distal section.

  • Patent number: 4246662
Abstract: A prosthetic joint for replacement of bone joints having a one-piece body of flexible physiologically inert material. The body has an enlarged central portion with two stem portions extending oppositely from the central portion for insertion into the medullary canal of bone. The central portion of the body has a height equal to or greater than its width and a slot extending substantially through the enlarged central portion from the distal end of the dorsal surface of the central portion toward the proximal end of the volar surface of the central portion forming a hinge at the volar surface. The hinge is offset from the center of said central portion toward the proximal end of the central portion.
