Patent number: 11648410Abstract: A neurostimulator implant includes an insulating member and an elongate circuitry unit. The circuitry unit includes (a) a first electrode, disposed on an outer surface of a first end portion of the circuitry unit; (b) a second electrode, disposed on an outer surface of a second end portion of the circuitry unit; and (c) circuitry, disposed inside the circuitry unit, and configured to be wirelessly powered to drive an electrical current between the first and second electrodes. The circuitry unit is disposed alongside a medial part of the insulating member, bulging away from the insulating member to define a generally arced portion of the implant. Lateral parts of the insulating member extend laterally outward from the medial part to define lateral zones laterally beyond the circuitry unit. The second side of the insulating member defines a generally flat side of the implant. Other embodiments are also described.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 16, 2023Assignee: BLUEWIND MEDICAL LTD.Inventors: Gur Oron, Yossi Gross, Danny Neeman, Shlomo Ronen

Publication number: 20230070960Abstract: An implant system is provided, which includes an implant, including an implant body and an electrode disposed on the implant body; and a hollow needle, which is configured to be percutaneously advanceable into tissue of a subject. The hollow needle is shaped so as to define a lumen dimensioned to house the implant; at a distal end of the hollow needle, a distal end opening configured to facilitate passage of the implant therethrough from the lumen; and a lateral wall shaped so as to define a window therethrough to the lumen. Other embodiments are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2022Publication date: March 9, 2023Applicant: BLUEWIND MEDICAL LTD.Inventors: Yossi Gross, Gur Oron, Shlomi Ronen, Bar Eytan, Zev Sohn, Rami Lore, Danny Neeman

Publication number: 20230001216Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a method for treating a condition of a subject. An implant defining a longitudinal axis is implanted between a nerve and skin of the subject. The implant includes an insulating member disposed, along the longitudinal axis, on at least a skin-facing side of the implant. Exactly two electrodes are disposed, along the longitudinal axis, at respective portions of a nerve-facing side of the implant. While the electrodes are driven to apply a treatment that stimulates the nerve, the insulating member is used to inhibit direct stimulation of sensory nerve fibers of the skin that are adjacent to the skin-facing side of the implant. Other embodiments are also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2022Publication date: January 5, 2023Applicant: BLUEWIND MEDICAL LTD.Inventors: Yossi GROSS, Gur ORON, Danny NEEMAN, Shlomi RONEN

Patent number: 10653888Abstract: A subcutaneous implant, including: (a) a circuitry unit having a first end, a second end, a conducting lateral side, and an opposing lateral side; (b) a first electrode, disposed on an outer surface of the circuitry unit and laterally circumscribing the circuitry unit at the first end; (c) a second electrode, disposed on the outer surface of the circuitry unit and laterally circumscribing the circuitry unit at the second end; (d) circuitry, disposed within the circuitry unit, and configured to be wirelessly powered to drive an electrical current between the electrodes; and (e) an insulating member, disposed on the opposing lateral side such that, on the opposing lateral side, each electrode is sandwiched between the insulating member and the circuitry unit, and the insulating member inhibits electrical conduction from the electrodes into the tissue. Other embodiments are also described.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2017Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: BLUEWIND MEDICAL LTDInventors: Guri Oron, Yossi Gross, Danny Neeman, Shlomo Ronen

Patent number: 9861812Abstract: Apparatus is provided, comprising an implant-storage member (24), configured to be percutaneously advanced to a tissue (10) of a subject, and shaped to define (a) a space (26) that is configured to house an implant (22) configured to apply a current to at least the tissue, (b) an opening (28) through which the implant is deliverable to the tissue, and (c) at least one window (30), configured such that, while the implant is disposed within the space and the implant-storage member is disposed in the tissue, the window facilitates flow of the current therethrough from the implant to the tissue; and a delivery manipulator (34), reversibly couplable to the implant, and configured to facilitate delivery of the implant through the opening. Other embodiments are also described.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2013Date of Patent: January 9, 2018Assignee: Blue Wind Medical Ltd.Inventors: Yossi Gross, Gur Oron, Shlomi Ronen, Bar Eytan, Zev Sohn, Rami Lore, Danny Neeman
