Publication number: 20090288598Abstract: A supply system for a chambered doctor blade assembly makes possible the sequential use of water-based and non-water-based coating materials through automated functions programmed in a PLC that controls the system. A pair of pneumatically driven diaphragm pumps serve as supply pump and return pump between the doctor blade chamber and a coating reservoir A PLC controls the pulse rate of pneumatic pressure to the pumps to control the rate of flow of the coating material into, and out of the doctor blade chamber. An ultrasonic sensor mounted detects the liquid level in the trough collection area. The PLC is programmed to modify the pulse rate of the supply pump and return pump to maintain the liquid level in the trough collection area above the drain thereof and below the maximum tolerance.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2008Publication date: November 26, 2009Inventors: Thomas James Riga, JR., Danny Richard Gubbels, Robert Burgard

Publication number: 20090291217Abstract: A supply system for a chambered doctor blade assembly makes possible the sequential use of water-based and non-water-based liquid inks through automated functions programmed in a PLC that controls the system. A pair of pneumatically driven diaphragm pumps serve as supply pump and return pump between the doctor blade chamber and an ink reservoir A PLC controls the pulse rate of pneumatic pressure to the pumps to control the rate of flow of the liquid into, and out of the doctor blade chamber. A capacitive sensor detects a high liquid level in the ink reservoir. The PLC is programmed to modify the pulse rate of the supply pump and return pump to maintain the liquid level in the reservoir above the drain thereof and below the maximum level.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2009Publication date: November 26, 2009Inventors: Thomas James Riga, JR., Danny Richard Gubbels, Robert Burgard

Patent number: 6811176Abstract: A coupling device is provided for receiving and securing a ball, the ball being attached to the structure to be coupled, including a tow vehicle in the case of a trailer hitch application. Various embodiments of the device for both tongue and “goose neck” trailer hitch applications are included, which provide for simple and effective latching and unlatching, including operation from the perimeter of the vehicle. Hands free latching is provided for all coupling embodiments. A pivoting ball support with one or more recessed faces is rotated and displaced as the ball enters the device, and is returned to a position whereby the ball is prevented from exiting the device. Various provisions are made for retaining the pivoting ball support in this position after such latching has occurred. Provisions for unlatching include various handles and hand pushed structure. Vertical adaptations are provided for use on gates and the like.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2002Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: Pepe Guerra, TrusteeInventors: David Richard Brown, Danny Richard Brown, Stacy Ray Brown

Patent number: 6642631Abstract: A direct duty cycle current sharing controller (42) and a method for controlling the output current of parallel coupled voltage regulator. A current sense amplifier (58) is provided to amplify the output voltage of a current sensor of a voltage regulator. A share bus amplifier (64) is provided to drive the share bus (SHARE) to a voltage representing the highest voltage regulator current of parallel coupled voltage regulators. A share adjust amplifier (68) provides the error voltage directly to the control terminal of a pulse width modulated (PWM) comparator (52). The share adjust amplifier overrides any feedback voltage currently being provided by the PWM controller and takes direct control over the duty cycle of the drive signal. Direct duty cycle current share control is provided under all modes of operation, even during modes where the voltage regulator is operating out of regulation, such as during soft start.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2000Date of Patent: November 4, 2003Assignee: Semiconductor Components Industries LLCInventor: Danny Richard Clavette
