  • Publication number: 20060289975
Abstract: The present invention relates to positioning components of an assembly using fiducial features. A first fiducial feature on a first piece of the assembly can be located. A first component can be positioned on the first piece of the assembly based on the location of the first fiducial feature. A second fiducial feature on a second piece of the assembly can be located. The second component can be positioned relative to the second piece of the assembly based on the location of the second fiducial feature. The first piece can be positioned relative to the second piece based on the locations of the first and second fiducial features. The assembly can be an optical device. The first component can be an active optical device, the second component can be a lens, the first piece can be a package, and the second piece can be a lid.

  • Patent number: 7028675
Abstract: A fuel supply assembly providing vaporized fuel to an engine wherein a quantity of liquid gasoline fuel is controllably heated for a desired vapor emission from the liquid fuel, and a conduit arrangement conducts the vapor, intermixes it with ambient air and conveys the intermixture to the engine's combustion chamber. A sensor in the engine exhaust monitors the hydrocarbon content of the exhaust and control valving controls the vapor to air intermixture in response to the monitor for maintaining a desired intermixture that produces the desired hydrocarbon content.

  • Patent number: 6966308
Abstract: A fuel supply assembly is provided that may allow for use of vaporized fuel to power an engine and enhance fuel efficiency. The fuel supply assembly may include a vaporizing tank, a heating source, a temperature control and a monitoring and control system configured to control intermixing of ambient air and vaporized gasoline to maintain a desired hydrocarbon level in an exhaust.

  • Patent number: 6957499
Abstract: A depthometer for measuring a length of an elongate line. A main wheel is mounted upon a main body component and is in communication with a registering mechanism. Line guides are mounted upon a lower body component. An inner handle connected to the main body component is pulled toward an outer handle connected to the lower body component, in opposition to a spring-like force in the opposite direction, to open the depthometer and position a line within the depthometer. The main body component is automatically moved towards the lower body component via a spring-like force when the inner handle is released, thereby engaging the line in the depthometer in the installed position.

  • Patent number: 6905564
Abstract: A process for producing a tire having an expandable chamber utilized for extending and retracting studs provided in the periphery of the tire. In one embodiment, a non-stick film is strategically positioned between the casing and the tread prior to curing the tread onto the casing. The interface at either side of the film forms the sides of an expandable chamber. The tread side of the chamber is inset and studs are affixed thereto. Expansion of the chamber extends the studs out of the inset and into engagement with a road surface. Alternative processes provide a channel in the tread and the expansion chamber formed in the channel.

  • Patent number: 6396604
Abstract: An optical network includes a number of nodes coupled to an optical transmission medium, such as an optical fiber bus. Each of the nodes includes a dark pulse generator. Different nodes output dark pulses in different time slots onto the transmission medium, forming a dark pulse OTDM (optical time division multiplexed) signal. The network may have a re-entrant bus topology.
