    Abstract: A composition comprising one or more antibodies covalently attached to a magnetic nanoparticle via a linker. The magnetic nanoparticle comprises a magnetic core and a non-magnetic outer surface layer. The one or more antibodies are specific for one or more target cells or one or more target biomolecules in a biological sample. The linker comprises ethylene glycol and/or thiol. The invention also provides methods for fabricating such antibody conjugated nanoparticles and procedures for their applications in selective separation/isolation of target cells or target biomolecules from biological matters.
