  • Patent number: 5050354
Abstract: A prefabricated house comprises a plurality of adjacent radial molded elements (10.sub.1 to 10.sub.18) which are assembled together to form a low dome. The house has a central support structure (12) in the form of a shaft erected on a floor slab (14) and each of the molded elements has an outer wall (42) formed by a sandwich of composite material and forming a part both of the roof and of the side wall of the house. The outer wall (42) is delimited by a top edge (44) for connection to the central support structure (12), a bottom edge (48) for connection to the floor slab (14), and two side edges (52, 54) for assembly to two corresponding side edges (56, 58) belonging to two adjacent elements.

  • Patent number: 4800796
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an elongated braided structural member having high mechanical strength, including the steps of providing at least three primary elongated cores, parallel and spaced from one another, and helically winding a plurality of threads around said cores, at least two threads being wound around any pair of primary cores.

  • Patent number: 4614147
Abstract: Cores (a1-a4) pass through separate points in a plate (1) of the machine, over which plate thread-carrying spools (17.sub.1 -17.sub.24) are free to move. Two pairs of spools (i.e. four spools) are associated with each of the six possible pairs of the cores (a1-a4). Both spools in each pair are wound in the same direction around the corresponding pair of cores. The other two spools corresponding to the same pair of cores wind round the pair in the opposite direction. At successive steps of the method, each spool in each pair of spools is swapped with the other spool of the pair to occupy the position previously occupied by the said other spool. As a result, each pair of cores is covered by two helical windings in each winding direction.

  • Patent number: 4309854
Abstract: A telescopic mast having a plurality of elements comprising the mast wherein the elements are slidably arranged in relation to each other, together with cables for the erection of the mast, wherein the cables are before the erection of the mast connected to all of the elements and the erection of the mast is carried out by a successive sliding of each element on the element therebelow, further including provision for separating the cables of each element after the end of the hoisting operation of that element.

  • Patent number: 4081618
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically dialling telephone numbers and a card indicative of the number to be called, in which the card is provided with three tracks. The first track is a continuous rectilinear sawtooth track and the second track is parallel thereto and has formed therein cavities, the length of which are indicative of the number to be called. The third track is associated with the second track and is used to stop the card at a particular point. In the apparatus, feelers are provided to co-operate with each track and the card is pushed into the apparatus by a user and will return at a uniform speed. A first feeler can co-operate with the first track to produce a train of impulses only when a second feeler engages in a cavity of the second track, so that the length of the train of impulses is determined by the length of a cavity of the second track. These cavity lengths are indication of the number to be called.

  • Patent number: 4026553
Abstract: A racket for tennis, badminton, squash or the like. The racket has a generally conventional oval frame with a handle. A one-piece molded plastic meshed netting is provided with oval strands parallel to the oval frame and radiating strands intersecting and bracing the oval strands. Thickened ends of the radiating strands pass through holes in the frame where they are secured either by a belting strand passing through loops at the ends of the radiating strands or by merely passing through the loops of adjacent radiating strands. The belting strand and other pairs of radiating strands are hooked onto one of two pins each in a tube in the handle. The tubes are adjustable axially by a screwthreaded plug and a screw at the butt end of the handle, each cooperating with one of the tubes for adjusting the tension of the netting.
