  • Patent number: 8571784
Abstract: A method for controlling a fuel injector of a diesel engine having a predefined control time from a control start, in which a setpoint value of a combustion start of a combustion chamber charge of the diesel engine is ascertained. The method is characterized in that an ignition delay between the control start and the combustion start is estimated from performance parameters of the diesel engine using a computing model, and the control start is formed on the basis of the setpoint value of the combustion start and the estimated ignition delay. A control unit controls the sequence of the method.

Date of Patent: October 29, 2013
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventors: Stefan Polach, Dara Torkzadeh

  • Patent number: 7542841
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling an internal combustion engine in which a combustion chamber quantity characterizing the combustion process is ascertained on the basis of input quantities. This takes place using a polytropic exponent. The polytropic exponent is ascertained on the basis of performance characteristics of the internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20050182545
Abstract: A damping device comprises a device (4, 7) for determining a mechanical state variable (??MODEL, ??ACTUAL) reproducing the torsion of a drivetrain (3) of an internal combustion engine (1) and an actuator (2) to activate an internal combustion engine (1) with a control variable as a function of the mechanical state variable (??MODEL, ??ACTUAL). It is proposed that the mechanical state variable (??MODEL, ??ACTUAL) be determined by a predictor element (4) that contains a model of the drivetrain (3) and/or the internal combustion engine (1).

  • Publication number: 20050102090
Abstract: A damping device comprises a recording device (4, 7) for determining a mechanical state variable (??MODELL, ??IST) reflecting the torsion of a drive train (3) of an internal combustion engine (1), and a control device (2) for controlling an internal combustion engine (1) with a correcting variable as a function of the mechanical state variable (??MODELL, ??IST. It is proposed that the mechanical state variable (??MODELL, ??IST) be determined by a predictor element (4) that contains a model of the drive train (3) and/or of the internal combustion engine (1).
