  • Patent number: 9009879
Abstract: An air management system for an insulated spa cabinet is provided. The air management system monitors the temperature of an equipment air space in the cabinet and vents overheated air in a controlled manner from the cabinet. The air management system comprises an air passageway, formed by a U-trap, between an inlet in the air space and an exterior of the cabinet. The system also comprises an air mover and a sensor. The sensor monitors the temperature in the air space and when the temperature is above a set temperature threshold, the air mover is operated to direct air from the air space through the passageway from the inlet to the discharge for controlled venting of overheated air.

  • Patent number: 8572769
Abstract: A spa heats or cools air in the air space surrounding the water containment vessel to heat or cool the water in the water containment vessel. The air is heated and cooled and is circulated within the spa cabinet in contact with the underside of the tub and the plumbing for transferring or absorbing heat from the water through the tub and the plumbing. The air is heated by a solid state thermoelectric device or a conventional space heater and is cooled using a solid state thermoelectric device. Preferably a single thermoelectric device is mounted through a wall in the spa cabinet and is used for both heating and cooling the air in the air space.

  • Patent number: 6860437
Abstract: A jet barrel adapted for use in a spa jet housing having a rotor rotatably supported on a spindle pin aligned along a longitudinal axis in the bore of the jet barrel. The spindle pin is supported at upstream and downstream pivot points. An offset nozzle extends from a conical base of the rotor, an inlet to the rotor being aligned with an outlet from the jet barrel's bore. As water exits the jet barrel bore into the rotor, the rotor and spindle pin are caused to co-rotate. Hard water deposits, sufficient to prevent rotation do not readily build around the pivot points.

  • Patent number: 6339854
Abstract: A personal steamer comprising an assembly of three pieces: a base tub and liner tub and a lid. The liner tub is body-shaped to form a foot, a seat, a back and side walls forming a steam enclosure. A lid, hinged at the foot, can be pivoted to a vertical, low stress vertical position, or closed for use. The liner tub is formed of ABS and reinforced with fiberglass on its underside where it is protected from the steam. The liner tub is fitted into the base tub and foamed together, forming a base assembly. Steam is conducted through a fitting in the base tub and through a conduit to a horn outlet at the user's feet. The steam is discharged away from the user and towards the lid, deflecting back to into the enclosure. U-shaped conduits and fans recirculate steam in the enclosure. A portable steam generator is coupled with the cabinet for providing constant temperature steam very quickly.
