  • Publication number: 20170108959
Abstract: A lens assembly for an electronic display, and a method of manufacturing said lens assembly is provided herein. The lens assembly includes a first lens layer, the first lens layer defining a surface opposing a viewer of the lens assembly; a second lens layer opposing a second surface of the first lens layer, the second surface being on an opposite side of the surface; a reservoir formed by the first lens layer and the second lens layer placed on a border, a liquid optical clear adhesive (loca) deposited into the reservoir; and a touch sensor attached to either the first lens layer and the second lens layer.

  • Patent number: 9330863
Abstract: The aspects of the present disclosure provide an apparatus for and method of reducing rotary knob produced by a plurality of detents. In particular, a rotary retainer within a rotary knob assembly. The rotary retainer has a generally cylindrical body and an angular flange protruding outwardly from and around the generally cylindrical body and a plurality of detents disposed on the angular flange. The angular flange is made of a first material capable of sustaining a torque exceeding a first predetermined threshold and wherein the plurality of detents are made from a second material different from the first material, the second material being capable of sustaining a torque exceeding a second predetermined threshold, and the first material and the second material are configured to dampen noise generated by the plurality of detents when the rotary knob is operated.

  • Patent number: 9296140
Abstract: A rotary knob assembly and methods for forming and controlling friction effecting features of the knob assembly are disclosed. The knob assembly includes a mounting structure and a knob. The knob is rotatably coupled to a bezel of the mounting structure. The knob includes a stabilizer, a guide member, and a retainer having a patterned surface. At least a portion of the stabilizer is disposed between the bezel and the retainer to maintain an axial position and a radial position of the knob. A detent formed on the guide member cooperates with a patterned surface of the retainer to provide a haptic feedback to a user.

  • Publication number: 20150053539
Abstract: An input mechanism device and a method for providing an edge-to-edge input mechanism are provided. The device includes a lens at a surface facing an engager of the input mechanism; a finishing layer opposite the surface, applied on the lens; an adhesive layer on the finishing layer; a sub-retainer, the sub-retainer and the adhesive layer being bonded with each other via adhesive properties associated with the adhesive layer; and a button retainer to engage with the sub-retainer in response to the engager of the input mechanism applying pressure on the lens.
