Abstract: A wireless audience response system can have a host unit, presenter device, and a plurality of audience response units with keypads, with the host unit being communicatively coupled to a computer. In some embodiments, the audience response units can be used to execute functions using application programs within the computer remotely. Also, in other embodiments, the audience response units track delay times required for transmitting input data, with the delay times being usable in comparing response times at the host unit.

Abstract: Digitizing tablet methods and systems are provided. Various embodiments of the digitizing tablet include a pointer, an input surface and a display. In some embodiments, both an inner and outer portion of the input surface can be associated with indicia, each of the indicia being operable to trigger a function or mode of operation, or both. In some embodiments, the inner surface can also be mapped to an image projectable on a display device. A plurality of template sheets can be attached to the input surface, interchangeably or simultaneously, for identifying the location of indicia and live areas on which a user can annotate.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a presenter remote unit, usable for controlling digital segments, such as digital presentation slides, has a display for displaying private notes that are pre-associated with the digital segments. The private notes can be navigated using a menu displayable on the presenter remote unit.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling portable units in an audience response system when the audience response system is used for retrieving responses to paper-based questions. Some embodiments of the present invention comprise controlling the portable units to be capable of only displaying question indicia and user interface settings associated with assigned questions from paper-based documents, thereby excluding the display of other question indicia associated with non-assigned questions. Graphical user interfaces are also provided for selecting subsets of the questions from the paper-based questions for use in controlling the portable units.

Spontaneous inquiries can be posed by a presenter during a game, and portable wireless transmitter units can be used to respond to the inquiries. The responses are evaluated and the results are reflected in a graphical presentation displayable to audience members. The spontaneous inquiries can be selected from a set of paper-based questions provided to audience members.

Abstract: Software products and methods for recording student scores in relation to questions within a grading chart, the grading chart being displayable using a computer. The grading chart can be a matrix with fields that can be selected and used for visually entering scores corresponding to students and questions. The fields can be associated with pre-designated score alternatives, and the scores selected in the fields can be stored with individual associations to various educational standards-relevant factors.
