  • Publication number: 20210262582
Abstract: A pneumatically controlled flow booster includes a booster valve plug position sensor that enables control of the flow booster in a feedback loop, for example by a pneumatic valve positioner, thereby providing accurate, high speed, high flow control of both small and large actuator adjustments. Embodiments can accurately control a surge suppression valve over extended valve adjustment ranges and can fully open a surge suppression valve during a trip. The flow booster valve can include a spool and sleeve valve and/or a poppet valve. Embodiments provide bimodal flow boosting, whereby the output flow is less dependent on the valve plug position in a first position range, and more strongly dependent on the valve plug position in a second range.

  • Publication number: 20040154383
Abstract: This invention relates to a device and a method by which to directly measure based on pressure and/or temperature data and to control the flow rate, viscosity, density, velocity, pressure or temperature of a variety of fluids in motion with improved reliability and less susceptibility to disturbance of the measuring and control system while, at the same time, offering maximum flexibility for influencing measurement and control data. Components of the flow meter system are described and the methods for calibrating the system and determining pour volumes are explained.

  • Patent number: 6267559
Abstract: The present invention utilizes a torque compensation system and a power control feedback system to reduce power consumption in a linear peristaltic pump. The linear peristaltic infusion pump includes an electric motor, which is connected to a cam shaft with multiple cams positioned thereon. Numerous elongate fingers cooperate with the cams to partly occlude an intravenous drip tube at multiple points along the tube's path. A torque compensation system and power feedback control system reduce the overall power consumption of the pump. A torque compensation cam positioned on the cam shaft, in combination with a torque compensation cam follower and a mechanical spring assist the motor while it is working against a rising cam follower. The power feedback control system comprises a controller which optimally adjusts the power supplied to the drive means so as to reduce overall power consumption of the pump.
