  • Publication number: 20160366333
Abstract: A trail camera includes a camera for capturing images; a sensor for sensing an object in the vicinity of the trail camera; and a control system for triggering operation of the camera in response to the sensor so as to capture an image of the object when it is in the vicinity of the trail camera. The trail camera also includes memory that stores a set-up program that includes code to allow a user to select camera operating parameters for the trail camera and a memory card port that can write to and read from a removable memory card so that the set-up program can be transferred to and executed by an external computer.

  • Patent number: 9228790
Abstract: A gun barrel cleaning device comprises a weight, a cord, a boreguide sleeve, a sheath, a brush, a cleaning element, and a lubrication element. The weight provides a mass that helps to insert the device into the barrel of a gun. The weight may be coupled to the high tensile strength cord, which in turn may be coupled to the tubular sheath. The boreguide sleeve may cover the sheath where it is coupled to the cord to smooth the transition from the cord to the sheath. The brush may be connected to the cord and encased by the sheath. The cleaning element, also encased by the sheath, may remove dirt from the gun barrel. The lubrication element, coupled to the sheath, may deposit lubrication in the gun barrel. The gun barrel may be cleaned and lubricated by pulling the device through the barrel.

  • Publication number: 20150077551
Abstract: A trail camera comprises a camera operable for capturing images; a communication device for transmitting the images to a remote server; and a controller for prompting the camera to automatically capture a test image a pre-determined number of seconds after the trail camera is set-up. A method of checking the communication coverage of the trail camera; comprises placing a scannable code on packaging or a display associated with the trail camera; instructing a customer to scan the scannable code with a mobile communication device before the customer purchases the trail camera; prompting the customer to enter information into the mobile communication device that specifies a geographic area where the trail camera will be used; and providing to the mobile communication device coverage information for the geographic area so the customer can determine if the trail camera will have communication coverage in the geographic area before the customer purchases the trail camera.

  • Patent number: 7534056
Abstract: A trail camera having one or more hinges to provide pivoting of the trail camera after mounting to a fixed object is disclosed. The hinges allow pivoting of a housing and/or a camera section after the trail camera is mounted to enable a user to direct the trail camera towards a target location to capture an image regardless of the particular mounting orientation of the camera. Such a configuration enables the trail camera to be mounted at a vertical elevation above the target location while still recording events in proximity to the target location.

  • Publication number: 20070291157
Abstract: A camera (10) with an automatic daytime/nighttime feature includes a lens (16) for focusing an image, an image capture element (14) for capturing a digital representation of the image focused by the lens, the image capture element (14) operable to capture images in both the visible light and infrared portions of the electromagnetic spectrum, and a filter (18) for preventing passage of substantially all electromagnetic waves within the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. An actuator (20) moves the filter (18) between a first position wherein the filter (18) is at least partially interposed between the lens (16) and the image capture element (14), and a second position wherein the filter (18) is not interposed between the lens (16) and the image capture element (14). A controller (44) automatically causes the filter (18) to be moved between the first position and the second position at times of day indicated by instructions received via an interface (46).
