Patent number: 4178107Abstract: A typing device comprises a character-bearing disc having a central part for being fixed on a selector shaft and a peripheral rim with a plurality of selectable flexible laminae. Each lamina carries a particular character and striking means flexes the selected lamina to strike against a typing point of a sheet carrying platen for typing. A positioning element, for angular positioning the characters with respect to the typing point, comprises a recess cooperating with a wedge-shaped profile of each one of the selected laminae when the character strikes on said platen. The laminae carry alphabetic and numerical characters and a gap on the peripheryof the disc enables the last typed characters of a typing line to be seen and read. Further a hooked element cooperates with an elastic means of a flange integral with the selector shaft to removably fix the character bearing disc to the selector shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1977Date of Patent: December 11, 1979Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Giampaolo Guerrini, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 4169683Abstract: A high-speed wire printing device wherein the wires are slidably mounted on a carriage movable in front of a recording medium and individually actuated by controlling electromagnets to print alphanumeric characters and graphic symbols on the medium in accordance with a dot matrix formed of lines and columns. The printing extremities of the wires are aligned on two side-by-side columns. At each actuation cycle of the electromagnets, the carriage is shifted at a constant speed in front of the medium by a distance that is substantially equal to twice the distance between two columns of the matrix. An electronic circuit for the actuation of the electromagnets actuates both selectively and alternately the wires arranged in two side-by-side columns.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1977Date of Patent: October 2, 1979Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Francesco Bernardis, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 4010836Abstract: A wire printing device comprises a frame removably mounted on a carriage which can move parallely to a platen. On the frame is removably mounted a guide block of resin material which guides a plurality of printing wires individually actuatable by a plurality of electromagnets, mounted on the frame. For an easy assembly of the printing device, a terminal guide is removably mounted on the frame for guiding the printing wires in proximity of the platen. Moreover, between the terminal guide and the guide block, a lubricating pad is disposed at contact with the printing wires and an oil container, mounted on the guide block, is connected through a wick to the pad for holding it constantly impregnated.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1975Date of Patent: March 8, 1977Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Francesco Bernardis, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 3999749Abstract: An automatic passbook feeding device, suitable for an accounting machine, having a pair of parallel driving rollers rotating in synchronism a corresponding pair of pressure counter-rollers, for pressing the passbook against the driving rollers, and a movable stop adapted to assume selectively a first position for blocking the path of the passbook and a second working position for moving the passbook.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1975Date of Patent: December 28, 1976Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Adriano Zambolin, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 3991875Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for driving, stopping and line-spacing cards or separate forms, in an accounting machine. A plurality of rollers, actuated by a motor, moves the cards or the separate forms for a predetermined number of printing lines. A control unit selectively activates a coupling device for connecting the motor to the rollers. A counting device is connected to the rollers by a coupling commanded by the control unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1974Date of Patent: November 16, 1976Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Adriano Zambolin, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 3966036Abstract: An inked ribbon of a high-speed printer for office machines is wound on two spools connected each one with a corresponding electric motor. The ribbon is transferred stroke by stroke from the feed spool to the take-up spool with a substantially constant tensioning force. To this end an oscillating lever is disposed between the two spools and, cooperating with the ribbon, forms a loop thereof under the action of a tensioning spring. The oscillating lever in correspondence of a minimum and of a maximum of the ribbon loop cooperates with a pair of microswitches which alternately stop and actuate the electric motors in manner that the ribbon is transferred alternately from the feed spool to the loop and from the loop to the take-up spool under the action of the tensioning spring. A changeover device alternates the function of the two spools when the ribbon is fully wound on the take-up spool.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1974Date of Patent: June 29, 1976Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Francesco Bernardis, Dario Bisone

Patent number: 3941229Abstract: A serial printing device comprises a type drum rotatably mounted on a carriage which can move parallely to a platen. On the periphery of the type drum are mounted a plurality of character-bearing elements urged against the drum by biasing means. A stepping motor rotates the drum for positioning a selected character-bearing element in front of the platen. A hammer is actuatable for pushing the selected character-bearing element radially outwardly relative to the drum against the action of the biasing means, and the drum is moved towards the platen simultaneously to the actuation of the hammer.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1974Date of Patent: March 2, 1976Assignee: Ing. C. Olivetti & C., S.p.A.Inventors: Raffaele Becchi, Dario Bisone
