  • Patent number: 7766807
Abstract: A core is provided with a coating formed by an agglomerate obtained by hardening of a mixture comprising a granulated stone material, preferably of the type having a high hardness factor and light color, and a hardening resin, preferably an epoxy resin, for manufacturing a roller or cylinder of a non-porous external surface, the roller being used for the processing of materials and products. For the manufacture of the roller, a formwork having a cavity for housing a core is prepared so as to provide an interspace which is filled with the mixture, following which compacting of the mixture present in the interspace and then the resin hardening step are performed to obtain a non-porous agglomerate.

  • Patent number: 7748373
Abstract: An apparatus for machining an article (L) in the form of a slab or the like comprises—in addition to a rotary tool (24) associated with a spindle (22)—a nozzle (26) ejecting water at very high pressure. Both the rotary tool and the nozzle are supported by a carriage (20) sliding along a beam (18) in turn sliding along two shoulders (14) in a perpendicular direction. In the working area (12) and above a tank (30) normally filled with water, the article (L) is supported in a horizontal position not only by an interchangeable grid (32; 52), but preferably also by a disposable support (34) which prevent the rotary tool (24) from coming into contact with the grid. The disposable support is periodically replaced.

  • Publication number: 20080006366
Abstract: Method for producing articles which are not flat from a mix consisting of granulated inorganic materials and a hardening resin. After being compacted by means of vacuum vibrocompression on a flat forming support, the mix is transferred onto a form (300), the surface (350) of which has the same curvature as the article (100) to be obtained, and is left there until hardening of the mix is achieved. The articles made using this method and able to be used in various industrial and civil applications are also claimed.
