  • Publication number: 20240393062
Abstract: A flat tube for a heat exchanger, formed by bending a sheet metal strip along its length and including: a first wall, a second wall parallel to the first wall, with two complementary side wall portions joining the first and second walls together. The first fall includes a seam extending along the longitudinal axis of the flat tube so that juxtaposed longitudinal edges of the metal strip join together in parallel manner towards the second wall to form a closed profile of the tube. The seam includes a first section fixed to the second wall and extending along the first portion of the seam along the flat tube. The seam further includes a second section extending along the second portion of the seam arranged in series with respect to the first portion and along the longitudinal axis of the flat tube. The second section is separated from the second wall.

  • Publication number: 20220325964
Abstract: The header-tank assembly includes a tank, a header a sealing element. The tank includes foot portions configured on at least one pair of opposite sides thereof. The header includes tabs configured on at least one pair of opposite sides. The tabs are crimped along fold lines configured thereon to receive the respective foot portions of the tank and configure connection between the header and the tank. The sealing element is disposed between the foot portions of the tank and the header. A notch is configured on an outside wall of each tab, wherein the notch extends along the fold line to facilitate crimping of the tabs over the respective foot portions and is visible after crimping operation.

  • Publication number: 20220026158
Abstract: A charge air cooler comprising: a first heat exchange section comprising a first inlet manifold and a first outlet manifold connected fluidically by a plurality of stacked first coolant conduits; a second heat exchange section comprising a second inlet manifold and a second outlet manifold connected fluidically by a plurality of stacked second coolant conduits; a coolant inlet connected fluidically with the first inlet manifold and the second inlet manifold; a coolant outlet connected fluidically with the first outlet manifold and the second outlet manifold; wherein the first coolant conduits and the second coolant conduits are distanced within their stacks so that heat exchange between the coolant and the air is enabled, and are both situated between the manifolds of the first heat exchange section and the manifolds of the second heat exchange section.
