  • Patent number: 4504564
Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging member is produced by providing a photoconductive layer and depositing thereon a solution of polycarbonate and substituted N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(alkyl phenyl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4' diamine in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent and a halogen-free organic solvent having a boiling point greater than the boiling point of the halogenated hydrocarbon solvent to provide a charge transport layer when solvents are removed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 3, 1984
Date of Patent: March 12, 1985
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Damodar M. Pai, Darlyn F. Pochan, John M. Pochan
  • Patent number: 4409598
Abstract: Magnetic imaging apparatus and method wherein a latent magnetic image is created on a magnetizable imaging member comprising a base or web containing a magnetizable component and wherein said imaging member has an overcoating of an electroconductive material. After development of the latent image with a magnetic toner composition, the developed image is transferred by pressure contact to a receiving substrate and fixed thereto. The imaging member provides substantially improved adhesive properties and efficient transfer of the toner particles to the receiving substrate.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 11, 1983
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: J. Kirk Swigert, Darlyn F. Pochan
  • Patent number: 4297425
Abstract: An imaging member comprising a hole generation layer and a contiguous hole transport layer, said hole transport layer comprising a transparent electrically inactive polycarbonate resinous material having a residual amount of a halogen containing organic solvent therein and dispersed therein from about 25 to about 75 percent by weight based on said transport layer composition of a diamine, said charge transport layer being substantially nonabsorbing in the spectral region at which the hole generation layer generates and injects photogenerated holes, but being capable of supporting the injection of photogenerated holes from said photoconductive material and transporting said hole through said charge transport layer, said charge transport layer also containing a stabilizing proportion of a di or triaryl methane compound of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently selected from the group consisting of a C.sub.1 -C.sub.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 27, 1981
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Damodar M. Pai, John M. Pochan, Darlyn F. Pochan
