The license plate mount has a ledge extending over the license plate thereby shielding the license plate from snow and freezing rain to facilitate the license plate to be clearly visible at all times. A light emitter is attached to the ledge to emit light outwardly from the ledge. The light emitter is oriented to face the license plate to illuminate the license plate at night.

There is a window in each of the first side, second side and top. The window in the first side and the window in the second side are triangular in shape and preferably translucent. The window in the top is rectangular in shape and preferably five and one-half (5.5) inches in length. The top may also have one or more solar panels to convert solar energy into electrical energy.
