  • Patent number: 10246628
Abstract: Compounds comprising multiple hydrophilic heads and a lipophilic tail may be contacted with a metal or other surface so as to adhere to the surface and inhibit corrosion, among other things. Suitable hydrophilic heads may include quaternary ammonium cation moieties, phosphonium cation moieties, and combinations thereof. Such corrosion-inhibiting compounds may be introduced into a wellbore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation, for instance in oil and/or gas recovery operations and the like, whereupon the compound may adhere to a metal or other surface downhole so as to inhibit corrosion of the surface. • Publication number: 20180202944
Abstract: A system for inspecting an interior surface of a girth weld region of a pipeline includes a robot that includes a scanner mounted on a carriage for scanning the interior surface of the girth weld region to generate surface profile data. A profile analyzer receives the surface profile data and outputs an indication of whether the interior surface of the girth weld region is suitable for being coated. In some embodiments, an imaging system captures images of the girth weld region as it is being scanned. In a method of coating the girth weld regions of a pipeline, the images of a girth weld region found to be unsuitable for being coated based on the scanning data are used to certify whether the girth weld region is suitable for being coated.

Abstract: A modulation distortion compensation system for a phase locked loop 109 includes a compensation function (115) that is arranged to be coupled to a tuning voltage signal (117) corresponding to a tuning voltage from the phase locked loop and is configured to select a filter response from a plurality of filter responses, where the filter response corresponds to the tuning voltage. The distortion compensation system further includes a filter 224 that is configured to distort a modulation signal in accordance with the filter response and provide a distorted signal suitable for being coupled to a modulation input 211 of a feedback divider 209 included with the phase locked loop, wherein the distorted signal when used by the feedback divider will facilitate modulation and compensation of a radio frequency signal provided by the phase locked loop. Various environmental measurements in addition to the tuning voltage can also be used in selecting the filter response.

  • Patent number: 6768353
Abstract: A prescaler (100) includes a frequency divider (102) having an input node (136) and a divider output (128). The frequency divider is coupled to a clock signal and has a predetermined divisor. Series-coupled delay elements (104, 106, 108) are coupled to the divider output and to the clock signal. Each delay element includes a delayed output (130, 132, 134) and adds a delay equal to the clock period at the delayed output. The prescaler also includes transmission gates (112, 114, 116), each transmission gate coupled between the input node and the delayed output of a corresponding one of the delay elements. When one of the transmission gates is enabled and couples the delayed output of an nth one of the delay elements to the input node, the divider output frequency equals the clock frequency divided by the predetermined divisor plus n.

  • Publication number: 20040042851
Abstract: A method and apparatus for constructing a temporary road bed include a mat formed from a plurality of planks having a longitudinal dimension and spaced-apart a uniform distance by a spacer. A flexible cable extends through apertures in the planks and spacers for coupling the planks and spacers together. The flexible cable allows the mat to bend and conform to the ground surface and can be rolled and folded upon itself. In one embodiment, the planks include at least one recess in a top face for interlocking with a plank of a second mat. The mats can be coupled together in an end-to-end relation to obtain a desired length or width or in a stacked relation to obtain a desired thickness of the road bed.

  • Patent number: 6435384
Abstract: A method is provided for forming a recyclable plastic container component with an integral preform. A preform is placed within a mold recess. The mold is closed to capture the preform, thereby forming a flow passage with a shape corresponding to contours of the container component. Plastic is injected into the flow passage under pressure. The injected plastic bonds to an edge portion of the preform. The molded component is then cooled and removed from the mold.
