  • Patent number: 7673497
Abstract: System, methods, and compositions are described for detecting and inhibiting leaks of a transmission system. The composition may include one or more transmission system sealants and one or more light activated compounds. The transmission system sealant(s) inhibit one or more of the leaks in the transmission system. One or more of the light activated compounds are visible when activating light is directed towards a portion of the exterior of the transmission system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2005
Date of Patent: March 9, 2010
    Assignee: IDQ Operating, Inc.

  • Patent number: 7565830
Abstract: System, methods, and compositions are described for detecting and inhibiting leaks of an engine oil system. The composition may include an engine oil system sealant and a light activated compound. The engine oil system sealant(s) inhibit leak(s) in the engine oil system. One or more of the light activated compounds are visible when an activating light source is directed towards a portion of the engine oil system.

  • Patent number: 4824589
Abstract: A rust converting composition comprises ascorbic acid, lignin sulfonate, and a water insoluble polymer, such as polyvinylpyrrolidone, and optionally a thickener. The invention further provides a method for removing rust from rusted metal surfaces by applying the composition, allowing the composition to remain on the rusted metal surface until substantially all of the rust is converted to a water soluble form, and removing the composition from the metal surface by washing with water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 4, 1986
Date of Patent: April 25, 1989

  • Patent number: 4609406
Abstract: A rust conversion composition comprises the reaction product of a polyhydroxybenzoic acid and a alkane polyol, in admixture with a film forming polymer, and water. The composition is applied to rusted, iron-containing surface, and allowed to dry to form a hard, moisture and corrosion resistant film. Alternatively, the film may be removed to produce an iron-containing surface free of rust.
