    Abstract: The present invention provides an electrical power socket having illuminated prong receiving apertures. A light source, such as a light emitting diode, is mounted within the power socket and is operatively connected to a voltage converter capable of converting supply AC voltage into operating DC voltage. A switch or ambient light sensor may be provided for selectively operating the light source. The power socket may be used with a wall mounted power outlet, power strip or power extension cord.
