  • Patent number: 10001239
Abstract: A system to repair a hose made from deformable material includes an elongated container for holding a liquid heated sufficiently for softening the hose. A heater can be positioned in the container. A plurality of restraining members can be positioned to retain the hose immersed in the liquid within the container. A gas supply is used to pressurize the hose prior to immersion, and a support is provided for holding the hose before and after immersion. A method includes filling an elongated container with a heated liquid and pressurizing the hose with a gas. The pressurized hose is immersed in the liquid and maintained immersed by retaining members to soften the hose. The hose is removed from the liquid, depressurized and allowed to cool.

  • Patent number: 5384751
Abstract: A submerged cable is fitted with one or more tethered transducers that are otatably supported on the cable between clamped collars spaced apart to receive a standoff device. The device has pivotably connected flat portions which define semi-circular lower parts to so receive the cable. Upper triangular panel portions can be spread apart to receive the cable, and clamped together by a clevis that is connected to a riser or tether for the transducer.

  • Patent number: 5339288
Abstract: An underwater sound source with a remote controlled actuator comprising a oy having a buoyant portion, a plurality of launch tubes storing acoustic charges, a radio transceiver, control circuitry, hinged doors at the bottom of the tubes, and a safety release circuit. The hinged doors are secured by pneumatic actuators to allow a selected door to open on a radio signal from a remote location. The charges are pressure sensitive and will explode at a preselected depth. A launch platform can deploy the device and remove itself from the general vicinity of the test site. The device releases the charges on command from a transmitter aboard a vessel and reports on the status of the launch tube doors to a receiver aboard a vessel. A safety valve can be opened automatically or on power failure to insure that all acoustic charges have been discharged.

  • Patent number: 5227263
Abstract: A reconfigurable heavy duty battery holder which holds a plurality of stard sized battery cells. The device has removable plates and detachable leads to allow the user to reconfigure the device to provide different currents and voltages. The device comprises a body with a plurality of chambers for batteries, two end caps at either end of the body, and contacts at the end of each chamber electrically connected with terminals on the exterior of each end. Terminals allow attachment of either a connector plate or a lead. The user can select the voltage and current available by changing the position of the leads and connector plates. The body and ends provided are durable enough to withstand heat generated by high current demands and stress caused by frequent replacement of battery cells.
