  • Patent number: 10334051
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for providing access to wireless data to devices that, for any given reason, cannot communicate on long range wireless networks. As described herein, host devices can allow guest devices to pair via a short range wireless system. Host devices can then act like a courier for data that a guest device wishes to send. A broker system can schedule pairing between devices based on how much data a host device is willing to sell and at what price. Examples of guest devices could be sports equipment used to measure analytic sports data. Integrating a complete cellular interface into a ball may be expensive, considering the costs of data plans. It may be cheaper for an integrated Bluetooth chip to intermittently connect to a nearby smartphone and use the smartphone to send data to a user.

  • Patent number: 9214082
Abstract: An alarm system for detecting and reporting “smash and crash” intrusions is described. The alarm system includes a plurality of intrusion sensors and a security alarm panel in communication with each of the plurality of intrusion sensors at the site of the alarm system. An alarm gateway is provided remote from the security alarm panel, the alarm gateway monitoring the status of the security alarm panel for indications of tampering. A central station is in communication with the alarm gateway and monitors the status of the alarm system, where the alarm gateway sends an alarm condition to the central station when tampering at the security alarm panel is detected.

  • Publication number: 20090292464
Abstract: A system and method for attaching geographical markers to a variety of objects, including real-world objects, electronic documents, people, software applications, and other items of information, including stationary and moving entities. In accordance with an embodiment, the system provides an object location identifier (OLI), and can use additional forms of identifiers such as universal location referencing objects (ULRO) for mapping real-world objects, electronic documents, people, software applications, and other items of information. The object location identifier answers the questions of who and where a particular object may be. A mobile object location identifier (MOLI) feature can also be provided as a standardized way for specifying an object location identifier for user with mobile entities, including people, websites, and wireless applications.
