Abstract: Described herein are techniques for determining and executing data collection instructions for a material sample collection device. Such techniques may comprise receiving, at the sample collection device, a material sample, obtaining at least one initial image of the material sample, determining, based on the at least one initial image, a category for the material sample, retrieving, based on the determined category for the material sample, a set of data collection instructions specific to the determined category, collecting a set of images in accordance with the retrieved set of data collection instructions, and transmitting the set of images to a service provider platform.

Abstract: A mobile device app may be provided with a communications registry describing network-based resources with which the app would like to communicate, including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and Universal Resource Locators URLs of the network-based resources, for example. A local firewall on the mobile device allows the app to only communicate with the defined network-based resources in the communications registry. A user is presented with the communications registry prior to accepting download or installation. The user is thus alerted to which external resources are necessary to operate the app and which ones are not. Users would be warned when requested communication permissions are overly broad or relate to known threat locations. A threat score may be provided to users for self-mitigation.

Abstract: A data broker platform may store one or more data sharing preference settings of a subscriber for the subscriber data of the subscriber in a corresponding subscriber preference record of a subscriber preference blockchain ledger. The platform may further store one more access policy settings with respect to the subscriber data in a corresponding access configuration record of an access configuration blockchain ledger. The platform may receive a data request from a computing device of a third-party entity to access a set of subscriber data of the subscriber. Accordingly, the platform may provide the computing device of the third-party entity with access to the set of subscriber data when the platform determines using records in the subscriber preference blockchain ledger and the access configuration blockchain ledger that the third-party entity is permitted to access the set of subscriber data.
