  • Publication number: 20190224986
Abstract: A direct thermal and thermal transfer label combination is provided. The label includes a substrate, and the substrate includes a thermal print coating applied to a front side of the substrate. The label also includes a liner attached to a backside of the substrate along a first side of the liner. Further, an aqueous resin-based thermal transfer coating is applied to a second side of the liner. The front side of the label is capable of being imaged through direct thermal printing while the second side of the liner represents an opposite side of the label that is capable of being imaged through thermal transfer printing.

  • Patent number: 10124605
Abstract: An improved device is disclosed for holding down textile the material on the platen of the digital printer. The device includes a textile gripping material formed to define a border band on the periphery of the platen. The border material has a structure that engages/grips the textile and hold the textile in place. In operation, the textile is laid onto the platen surface and the edges are pulled taut to align the textile and remove wrinkles and the textile is next pressed onto the border material to be engaged by the border material. The border material grips and holds the textile in position, to provide a smooth textile surface on which the ink jets are applied. After the printing operation, the textile is lifted off of the border material and removed from the platen.

  • Publication number: 20180072042
Abstract: A screen printing adapter device is disclosed. In an example, the screen printing adapter device includes a body configured as an accessory to a printing board having a tag printing surface. The body is attached to a screen and moves on and off of the printing board along with the screen for a screen printing operation. The body supports areas of the screen for a squeegee that are otherwise unsupported by the printing board. The example screen printing adapter device also includes a shoulder edge of the body shaped to fit adjacent and conform to a shoulder edge of the printing board. The example screen printing adapter device includes a collar edge of the body. • Publication number: 20180072044
Abstract: A platen is disclosed. In an example, the platen may include a shirtboard configured to receive a garment. A backing is coupled to the shirtboard by a hinge. The backing and the shirtboard are compressible to selectively compress the shirtboard against the backing during a printing operation. An example of printing on a garment includes threading a garment onto a board so that the board is wearing the garment, supporting the board against a backing during compression, and printing on the garment. In an example, a fabric of the garment is pretreated, heat-pressed, and printed on, all without removing the garment from the board.

  • Patent number: 9302462
Abstract: A textile printing apparatus and method is disclosed. An example textile printing apparatus includes a first printing surface configured to support a first portion of a textile to be printed on. The example textile printing apparatus also includes a second printing surface configured to support a second portion of the textile in substantially a same printing plane as the first portion of the textile. The example textile printing apparatus also includes a slot formed adjacent the second printing surface. For a printing operation, a body of the textile is mounted over the first printing surface, and an inner portion of the textile is pulled through the slot and mounted, over the second printing surface. The printing operation proceeds in substantially the same printing plane onto both the outer printing surface and the inner printing surface without removing the textile during the printing operation.

  • Publication number: 20150332612
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a laminate and method of making the same, the laminate including a face layer and a liner layer. A plurality of release coating sections are applied to the liner and the face layer and at least two of the plurality of release coating sections are located on the face layer and are spaced apart at a distance from each other to define a gap. Another one of the release coating sections aligns with the gap. A section of adhesive aligns with the gap and is disposed between the face layer and one of the release coating sections. A pair of cut lines extend into the face layer and are spaced apart at a distance such the section of adhesive and one of the plurality of release coating sections applied to the face layer are disposed between the pair of cut lines.

  • Patent number: 8783180
Abstract: A manually operable proofing apparatus for performing sample test printings comprises a table for supporting a printable substrate, a carriage supported on the table for reciprocal movement along the printing surface, and a proofer assembly comprising an anilox roller for applying a printing material to the substrate. The carriage and the proofer assembly have matable quick-connect elements for selective attachment and detachment of the proofer assembly to, and from the carriage without fasteners or tools. The quick-connect element of the proofer assembly comprises a pair of bearings, and the quick-connect element of the carriage comprises a bracket defining an open receiving area for mated receipt of the bearing elements of the proofer assembly. The bracket of the carriage has a detent for retaining the bearing elements in an operational disposition supporting the anilox roller adjacent the printing surface when the bearing elements are mated within the receiving area.

  • Patent number: 6562109
Abstract: Trap apparatus and method for removing contaminants from the gaseous effluent flows from chemical vapor deposition chambers and processes by flowing the particle laden gas into an upper chamber of the trap apparatus, imparting additional kinetic energy to the powder particles to enhance separation of the powder particles from the gas, and then flowing the gas, sans the powder particles, out of the trap, while the powder particles fall into and are captured by a lower chamber positioned below the upper chamber and remote from the flowing gas. An impeller positioned in the upper chamber in the inlet path imparts the additional kinetic energy. For some reaction gas systems, an optional reactor with hydrophillic, rotating growth substrates enhance and accelerate growth of solid particles, which are then dislodged from the media, and fed by the flowing gas into the upper chamber for capture as previously described.
