Patent number: 11035477Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a housing assembly for a knife gate valve. The housing assembly includes a valve body defining a passageway and having a first body and a second body, and a one-piece liner arranged between the first body and the second body. The first body and the second body each include a flange recessed portion that defines a flange recess surface. Each of the flange recess surfaces includes a first flange surface portion, a second flange surface portion, and a raised flange bead. The one-piece liner includes a first liner flange portion that forms a first liner recess. The first liner recess receives the flange recessed portion of the first body to bring the raised flange bead of the first body into engagement with the first liner flanged portion.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2020Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: Emerson Vulcan Holding LLCInventors: Darren Parsons, John Sidney Moreland

Patent number: 10746306Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a housing assembly for a knife gate valve with a knife gate. The housing assembly includes a valve body defining a passageway and having a first body half and a second body half, and a one-piece liner arranged between the first body half and the second body half. A first part of the one-piece liner includes a first chest portion, a first liner bore, and a first sealing bead that is configured to engage the knife gate and extends circumferentially around the passageway. The first sealing bead defines a varying protrusion height as the first sealing bead extends around the passageway.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2018Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Emerson Vulcan Holding LLCInventors: Darren Parsons, John Sidney Moreland

Publication number: 20150090714Abstract: A closure device for a fluid vessel can comprise a bistable valve arrangement which includes first and second valve rim portions and a valve member engageable with either of the rim portions respectively to define an open position in which fluid can exit the vessel and a closed position in which fluid is substantially prevented from exiting the vessel The valve can be arranged to close automatically when an impulse is exerted against the valve member. This can occur for example when the vessel is knocked over and the fluid therein exerts pressure against the valve member.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2014Publication date: April 2, 2015Inventors: Steven LE MASURIER, Stewart HUMPHREY, Darren PARSONS

Publication number: 20060137090Abstract: A wireless water flow monitoring and leak detection system and method are provided. The system includes a base station, a memory, and a central processing unit configured to control the operation of the system and to analyze stored data. A plurality of highly-sensitive wireless flow sensor nodes are each installed individually on a supply line of a water fixture in a facility having a plurality of water fixtures. The wireless flow sensor nodes can periodically read and store a data point corresponding to either a flow condition or a no flow condition occurring at the water fixture. A plurality of coordinator nodes are configured to wirelessly relay data between the plurality of wireless flow sensor nodes and the base station. The base station is configured to determine based on an analysis of the stream of data points whether a leak exists in any of the water fixtures, and if a leak is determined to exist, a maintenance alert is generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2005Publication date: June 29, 2006Inventors: William Jeffries, David Parsons, Darren Parsons
