  • Patent number: 11847871
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and computer-readable media for verifying operations of vehicle control systems are disclosed. During a test cycle, a processor may monitor control modules and/or sensors embedded in a vehicle for control system data, may generate and report fingerprint based on a combination of the control system data, and may report the fingerprint to a remote computing device. During deployment, the processor may monitor the control modules/sensors for control system data, may generate and performance results based on a combination of the control system data, and may report the performance results to the processor. The process may verify whether the control systems of the vehicle are operating as desired based on a comparison of the performance results with the fingerprint. The remote computing device may generate and send an alert or flag to a remote device if the control systems of the vehicle are not operating as desired.

  • Patent number: 11455843
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and computer-readable media for verifying operations of vehicle control systems are disclosed. During a test cycle, a vehicle-embedded computer device (VECD) may monitor control modules and/or sensors embedded in a vehicle for control system data (CSD), may generate and report fingerprint based on a combination of the CSD, and may report the fingerprint to a vehicle performance verification system (VPVS). During deployment, the VECD may monitor the control modules/sensors for CSD, may generate and performance results (PRs) based on a combination of the CSD, and may report the PRs to the VPVS. The VPVS may verify whether the control systems of the vehicle are operating as desired based on a comparison of the PRs with the fingerprint. The VPVS may generate and send an alert or flag to a remote device if the control systems of the vehicle are not operating as desired.

  • Patent number: 11004277
Abstract: A computing device is connected to a motor vehicle's diagnostic port or communication port to acquire vehicle sensor data, for example from various pressure, temperature, oxygen, fuel and other sensors typically installed on a motor vehicle for other reasons. Acquired sensor data is wirelessly transmitted to a remote server where the acquired sensor data can be compared to a database of stored sensor data to identify the motor vehicle. Additional functionality is described that leverages uploaded sensor data. Sensor data may be uploaded to the server in near-real time, and/or buffered locally and uploaded by periodic or episodic, push or pull communication protocols.

  • Publication number: 20160379592
Abstract: In an example, a system includes a vehicle component (e.g., an automotive head unit) that is installed in a motor vehicle and a portable device (e.g., a cell phone) in the motor vehicle that is coupled with the motor vehicle. The vehicle component may include a screen and an image renderer, and the portable device may include a text renderer. The portable device may be configured to, in response to receiving a command to generate an image for the vehicle component, perform first operations to input data associated with the command into the text renderer to obtain a bitmap image and transmit the bitmap image or a representation thereof to the vehicle component. The vehicle component may be configured to perform second operations to input data of the bitmap image into the image renderer, and display an output of the image renderer on the screen.

  • Patent number: 8036201
Abstract: A data session with a wireless device ordinarily cannot be initiated from the network side because the wireless device has no predetermined IP or other network address. Methods are disclosed for instead causing the wireless unit to initiate a data session with a target destination, thereby obviating the IP addressing problem. A voice call is first initiated by a requester application to a remote wireless unit. The requester transmits a request message to the remote wireless unit via the wireless voice channel using in-band techniques; preferably including a payload in the polling message that identifies the target destination. In response, the remote wireless unit initiates a packet data session with the target destination.
