Publication number: 20140101050Abstract: A technique for improving collaboration between relevant parties in a commercial transaction involves sending a timely alert including descriptors useful for reducing the number of do-not-recognize (DNR) transactions. A system constructed in accordance with techniques described in this paper can integrate multiple stakeholders and service providers. The system can facilitate alerting stakeholders of a presumably fraudulent transaction and/or enabling stakeholders to alert other stakeholders, while reducing DNR resource costs.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2013Publication date: April 10, 2014Applicant: Ethoca Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Trevor Clarke, Warren de Villiers, Andre Edelbrock, Steve Frook, Darryl Green, Keegan Johnson

Publication number: 20090046306Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for printing annotated digital photographs via a computer. Photographic data and annotation data are entered into the computer and associated with each other. The data are then transmitted to an image printing system, either across a network or via a direct connection, and the image printing system prints a double-sided print, with the photographic data on the front, and the annotation data on the rear. In preferred embodiments, metadata is associated with the image and annotation data, and the image and/or annotation data is stored on the computer. In another aspect of the invention, the annotation data is displayed on the computer together with the image, in lieu of producing a double-sided print. The annotation data can be prepared using the full range of editing and formating features of the graphical and text software available for the computer.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2007Publication date: February 19, 2009Inventor: Darryl A. Publication number: 20060258424Abstract: A method of awarding a prize in a gaming system including a plurality of game consoles (11, 12, 13) comprising the steps of providing a trigger value derived from a random variable having a non-uniform distribution, periodically receiving count data from each game console, being data representing at least one parameter of a game console, calculating a total value representing the total count data received, comparing the total value with the trigger value, transmitting a prize instruction signal to an output means if the total value has a predetermined relationship with the trigger value, whereby the prize instruction signal results in at least one game console issuing a prize.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2004Publication date: November 16, 2006Applicant: UNITAB LIMITEDInventor: Darryl Green

Publication number: 20060205508Abstract: A technique is described where on-line players may participate in a table game involving physical elements such as a gaming table, players at the table, dealers, croupiers, betting chips, cards, dice, a roulette wheel, etc. The on-line players thus will have a more realistic experience than in a pure on-line system with all virtual elements. Electronic sensors in the table, or other detectors, sense the dealt cards and bets, and the data is communicated to the remote players. The remote players enter commands via a network (e.g., the Internet), and those commands are carried out at the physical table by the dealer placing bets for the player, dealing cards, or any other action. At the end of the session, the on-line players' accounts are debited or credited. If the on-line players are playing with physical betting chips, the on-line players' bet/won chips are appropriately distributed by the dealer to the player positions at the table. The players physically at the table play in a normal manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2005Publication date: September 14, 2006Inventor: Darryl Green
