Patent number: 11091922Abstract: Composite precast concrete panels are described herein having have an anchor that distributes forces imposed on the anchor through concrete wythes of the panels. Specifically, pins can be embedded in at least one concrete wythe, and then the anchor is secured to the wythe as described herein. The anchor extends through another Wythe to selectively connect to a hoist system that moves and places the composite precast concrete panel. The forces imposed on the anchor are distributed through the pins and into multiple concrete wythes to prevent failure of the composite precast concrete panels and improve safety.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2019Date of Patent: August 17, 2021Assignee: Meadow Burke, LLCInventors: David L. Kelly, Michael J. Recker, Darryl Dixon

Patent number: 10767378Abstract: A lifting system is provided that prevents a thermal bridge between concrete layers of a precast concrete structure. In some precast concrete panels, an insulation layer is provided between concrete layers. Lifting systems of the present invention allow lifting forces from a hoisting system to be transferred to the concrete panels without creating a thermal bridge between the concrete layers, and thus, reducing the effectiveness of the insulation layer. In some embodiments, a multi-plate configuration allows a central plate to distribute a lifting force to the concrete layers and then rotate away to prevent a thermal bridge between concrete layers.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2018Date of Patent: September 8, 2020Assignee: Meadow Burke, LLCInventors: Venkatesh Seshappa, Darryl Dixon, Michael J. Patent number: 10626606Abstract: A retention housing for receiving at least one load transfer member is provided. In some embodiments, the retention housing and load transfer member may be included in a sandwich wall panel or a double wall panel. The load transfer member may transfer loads between first and second concrete elements. The retention housing may include first and second retention members, at least one guide member, and a size indicator for aligning the retention members with respect to each other. The guide member may retain the load transfer member at a predetermined angle. In some embodiments, the size indicator may correspond to the thickness of an insulation layer, such as in a sandwich wall panel. The retention housing may further include at least one depth locating means. A retention housing including first and second retention members may further include means for connecting the first and second retention members, such as in an aligned position.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2018Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Composite Technologies, LLCInventors: Darryl Dixon, Venkatesh Seshappa, Robert T. Long, Sr., Craig Van Brocklin
