  • Patent number: 5494618
Abstract: Polymer precursor formulations suitable for stereolithography may be prepared from compositions containing vinyl ether functionalized compounds and epoxy functionalized compounds plus an effective amount of a cationic photoinitiator and an ultraviolet light-absorbing compound to provide a predetermined depth of cure. Preferably, the ultraviolet light-absorbing compound is anthracene or its derivatives.

  • Patent number: 5286835
Abstract: Vinyl ether terminated ester oligomers having a range of molecular weights are prepared by reacting a vinyl ether terminated polybasic ester with a polyol in the presence of a catalyst. Continual removal of a hydroxy monovinyl ether avoids formation compounds containing acetal moieties. Alternatively, a polybasic ester is chain extended with a polyol with continual removal of the alcohol by-product. Then, the terminal ester moieties are end capped with a monohydroxy vinyl ether. The oligomers have application in coatings and the like.

Date of Patent: February 15, 1994
    Assignee: Allied-Signal Inc.
Inventors: George D. Green, James R. Snyder, Darryl K. Barnes
  • Patent number: 5236464
Abstract: The stain resistance of nylon fibers is improved by attaching stainblocking compounds to the fiber surface using agents which have been grafted to the nylon using UV light and a photoactivator.

  • Patent number: 5149754
Abstract: The present invention relates to non-halogenated hydrocarbon polymeric compositions which impart durable stain resistance to fibrous substrates, particularly nylon containing articles. In addition, it relates to fluorine containing polymeric compositions which impart durable stain resistance to fibrous substrates as above. It relates also to processes in which such substrates are treated so as to impart durable stain resistance to them. It relates further to a manufacturing process for preparing the compositions of the invention.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 1991
Date of Patent: September 22, 1992
    Assignee: Allied-Signal Inc
Inventors: George D. Green, Stephen A. Munk, Darryl K. Barnes
