  • Patent number: 5010596
Abstract: A garment is provided for improving physical conditioning. The garment is formed with shorts having thigh encasing leg sections extending downwardly from a waist to surround and resiliently conform to the thighs of a wearer. A plurality of pouches are defined in each of the thigh encasing leg sections and are spaced laterally apart about the front, rear and outer thigh areas of the leg sections. A plurality of solid plastic encased lead weights are deployed and gripped within at least selected ones of the pouches. The leg sections are preferable secured about the legs of the wearer above the knees by adjustable belts located in hems at the lower extremities of the leg sections. The conforming nature of the garment and the way in which the weights are snugly gripped in the pockets ensures that the weights do not move relative to the wearer's skin, and do not bobble or shift as the wearer runs or engages in other physical conditioning activities.

  • Patent number: 4738447
Abstract: A training glove for basketball players has cut-off finger portions, a rigid arch plate incorporated into the palm portion, and a weight disposed upon the back portion. The arch plate trains the player not to contact the basketball with the palm of his hand, and causes the ball to be contacted by the spread fingers. The weight develops muscular strength through repeated use. With diligent use, the glove improves the accuracy and range for shooting the basketball through the hoop.
