Abstract: A turbine for generating electrical power includes oppositely rotating wheels which can be driven primarily by wind for driving a plurality of electrical power generators, or by a motor which may be a diesel, solar, electrical, or alternative fuel motor. One or more of the generators can also function as motors for driving the wheels. A method for generating electrical power involves a pair of wheels which rotate oppositely on a central shaft and a plurality of generators driven by the rotation of the wheels for generating power. The rotation of the wheels can be adjusted to a desired speed having regard to the current velocity of the wind and by means of a motor which is connected to the wheels so as to impart rotation thereof.
