    Abstract: Methods of training a plurality of students to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes is provided. The method includes dividing the plurality of students into a plurality of teams and teaching a first module of a multi-module training class. Each of the teams is allowed to attempt to solve a first portion of a simulated problem. Thereafter, a first portion of a simulated solution to the simulated problem is presented to the teams. The solutions of each of the teams are then updated to match the first portion of the simulated solution. A second module of the class is then taught. The attempted solutions may occur during the class, or between modules of the class. Additionally, computer training programs and instructional materials are provided for teaching students how to improve processes.
