  • Patent number: 11405129
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system disclosed herein are directed to a user equipment (UE) capable of switching an uplink modulation mode to a higher order modulation mode based on communication, or link, conditions and a condition associated with the UE. The UE, in response to receiving a request to change a current uplink modulation mode to a new modulation mode having a higher order modulation, may determine whether a current condition associated with the UE meets a predetermined condition. In response to determining that the current condition, including a current transmit power level and a current battery power level, meets the predetermined condition, the UE may generate a confirmation indicating that the current condition meets the predetermined condition, send the confirmation, and change the uplink modulation mode to the new modulation mode.

  • Publication number: 20220191683
Abstract: A wireless device provides voice authorization commands to disable and enable various data capabilities. In some examples, a single voice command from an authorized user disables multiple data capabilities on the wireless device while retaining voice call functionality and other desired device capabilities. Voice authorization commands to disable and enable data capabilities may override the control of the data capabilities, including deactivating and reactivating the corresponding user controls within the settings menu of the wireless device, after which a second associated voice authorization command may be used to re-enable the disabled data capabilities. In various examples, voice commands may be used to enable or disable different types of data capabilities on the wireless devices, including for different device applications and features, and may be authorized by different users with various security and authorization techniques.

  • Publication number: 20220191957
Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein for providing wireless communication services using mobile nodes in a cellular network, such as a 5G network. The mobile nodes may operate as Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) nodes which are utilized to provide wireless backhaul links and access links in a 5G network. One or more mobile nodes may be wirelessly coupled to a base station node (which may also be referred to herein as a “wired node”), such as a gNodeB, that includes a wired connection to the core network. The wireless backhaul extends coverage to user equipment (UE) that are not directly connected to a gNodeB base station.

  • Publication number: 20220111226
Abstract: An implantable vestibular prosthesis system includes an implantable optical array of optical sources configured for engagement with a disordered vestibular system to deliver optical stimulation signals to target stimulation locations within the bony or membranous labyrinth of the disordered vestibular system. An implantable stimulation processor is connected to the optical array and configured to produce the optical stimulation signals with the optical sources so as to generate directional pressure waves within the endolymphatic fluid directed to the target stimulation locations for vestibular perception by residual vestibular functioning.

  • Patent number: 11235149
Abstract: Optogenetic signal processing is described for an auditory prosthesis with an intracochlear array of optical stimulation sources implanted in a patient having auditory neurons genetically modified with light sensitive ion channels. Stimulation timing signals are generated for the corresponding auditory neurons for each band pass signal based on characteristic temporal fine structure features of the band pass signals. The stimulation timing signals include: i. one or more channel opening signals adapted to open the ion channels of the corresponding auditory neurons, and ii. one or more channel closing signals adapted to close the ion channels of the corresponding ion channels. Optical stimulation signals are then produced for the optical stimulation sources based on the stimulation timing signals.

  • Patent number: 11184719
Abstract: A signal processing arrangement generates optical stimulation signals to optical stimulation contacts in an implanted cochlear implant array. An input sound signal is transformed into band pass signals that each represent an associated band of audio frequencies, with each band pass signal includes an envelope component characterizing loudness of the band pass signal, and a fine structure component characterizing temporal details of the band pass signal. One or more of the signal components of each band pass signal is half wave rectified to remove negative phase signals. Signal slope is determined that corresponds to rate of change of the rectified one or more signal components. Then constant-rate optical stimulation pulses are generated for one or more given band signals only when the rectified one or more signal components has a positive signal slope.

  • Publication number: 20210224871
Abstract: Insights about customers and/or merchants obtained through analysis of transaction data between the customers and the merchants can be provided to a review platform, merchants, or even customers themselves. A method can include receiving transaction data, the transaction data comprising at least two transaction attributes; segmenting the transaction data based on a particular insight option of a plurality of insight options; and determining a resulting insight for the particular insight option based on the segmented transaction data. The transaction data can include attributes such as a merchant identifier, a masked user identifier, a time and date, a payment method, a country code of an issuer, a country code of the merchant, a state code of the merchant, a city code of the merchant, or a category code of the merchant.

  • Patent number: 10838058
Abstract: Architecture and techniques for identifying types of objects based upon disruption of signal strength of millimeter-wave (mmW) transmitted signals caused by objects interfering with or blocking transmitted signals within a wireless communication network. In particular, types of objects may be identified based upon drops in signal strength due to objects moving between a transmission point and a receiving device. Based on factors including one or more of a size of an object, materials that make up the object, etc., the object causes a drop in received signal strength, thereby causing a change in a pattern of received signal strength. The changed pattern may be compared with base patterns that are correlated with a type or identity of an object in order to identify the object.

  • Patent number: 10772563
Abstract: Arrangements are described for fitting a cochlear implant to a recipient patient. An acoustic stimulus is delivered to an ear of the patient over a range of acoustic frequencies. A baseline acoustic transfer function resulting from the acoustic stimulus is measured using a response sensor configured to sense pressure response characteristics in the middle ear. And a maximum comfortable level (MCL) of stimulation is determined for at least one stimulation contact in the electrode array, based on performing an electrically evoked measurement to an electric stimulation signal and using the response sensor to measure a modified acoustic transfer function. The modified acoustic transfer function is compared to the baseline acoustic transfer function to determine when a stapedius reflex response occurs and identify the MCL.
