In some examples, the system may configure a base station and a user device to enable automatic authentication of the user device to access a new Wi-Fi network. In response to a service request from the user device, the system may determine whether the Wi-Fi network can handle the service or switch a serving connection. The system may also determine whether the Wi-Fi network includes location-based applications that should be rendered at the user device.

    Abstract: Techniques for configuring a network system including base stations that support wireless backhaul are discussed herein. To provide network coverage for a new rural area with low network capacity requirements, a service provider may initially deploy a limited network configured with wired base stations that uses fiber links as backhaul. The limited network may have large coverage gap due to the time and cost associated with deploying fiber cables. In such low traffic areas, the system may reserve a portion of available frequency bands to use as wireless backhaul and configure wireless nodes to use the backhaul provided by the reserved frequency bands. The system may configure the existing wired base stations to serve as donor nodes to provide network link for the wireless nodes. The system may deploy a network of these wireless nodes to rapidly fill in coverage gaps.

In response to determining that the current condition, including a current transmit power level and a current battery power level, meets the predetermined condition, the UE may generate a confirmation indicating that the current condition meets the predetermined condition, send the confirmation, and change the uplink modulation mode to the new modulation mode.

In some examples, a single voice command from an authorized user disables multiple data capabilities on the wireless device while retaining voice call functionality and other desired device capabilities. Voice authorization commands to disable and enable data capabilities may override the control of the data capabilities, including deactivating and reactivating the corresponding user controls within the settings menu of the wireless device, after which a second associated voice authorization command may be used to re-enable the disabled data capabilities. The stimulation timing signals include: i. one or more channel opening signals adapted to open the ion channels of the corresponding auditory neurons, and ii. one or more channel closing signals adapted to close the ion channels of the corresponding ion channels. One or more of the signal components of each band pass signal is half wave rectified to remove negative phase signals. Signal slope is determined that corresponds to rate of change of the rectified one or more signal components. Then constant-rate optical stimulation pulses are generated for one or more given band signals only when the rectified one or more signal components has a positive signal slope.

A baseline acoustic transfer function resulting from the acoustic stimulus is measured using a response sensor configured to sense pressure response characteristics in the middle ear. And a maximum comfortable level (MCL) of stimulation is determined for at least one stimulation contact in the electrode array, based on performing an electrically evoked measurement to an electric stimulation signal and using the response sensor to measure a modified acoustic transfer function. The modified acoustic transfer function is compared to the baseline acoustic transfer function to determine when a stapedius reflex response occurs and identify the MCL.
