  • Patent number: 12058534
Abstract: Embodiments of a method for measurement of electromagnetic field strength at a point of interest in a coverage area of a 2-dimensional (2D) active antenna system (AAS). The 2D AAS transmits with a load factor of 100 percent. The 2D AAS sweeps a predefined range of azimuth and elevation angles, and azimuth and elevation directions which yield highest EMF at the point of interest are determined. First beamforming weights are determined based on the azimuth and elevation directions and the 2D AAS caused to apply the first beamforming weights. The 2D AAS sweeps a co-phasing angle from 0 to 360 degrees, and a co-phasing angle which yields highest EMF is determined. Second beamforming weights are determined based on azimuth and elevation directions and the co-phasing angle, and the 2D AAS caused to apply the second beamforming weights. The EMF strength at the point of interest is measured.

  • Patent number: 9128113
Abstract: A vehicle orientation indicator comprises a sensor and a controller. The sensor is configured to sense a gravitational force component imposed on a vehicle. The controller is configured to determine an orientation of the vehicle with respect to a fixed plane based on the sensed gravitational force component and control an indicator device to provide a representation of the orientation of the vehicle. The controller is further configured to control the indicator device to update the representation of the orientation of the vehicle based on a change in the sensed gravitational force component as sensed by the sensor while a movement condition of the vehicle meets a prescribed condition, and to control the indicator device to refrain from updating the representation of the orientation of the vehicle while the movement condition fails to meet the prescribed condition.

  • Patent number: 8296048
Abstract: A vehicle information system operating method performs operations comprising determining an operational period, determining a movement period, determining a modification factor, determining a fuel economy value and determining an adjusted fuel economy value. The determining of the operational period determines the operational period during which a vehicle is running. The determining of the movement period determines the movement period during which the vehicle is in motion. The determining of the modification factor determines the modification factor based on respective durations of the operational period and the movement period. The determining of the fuel economy value determines the fuel economy value associated with the operational period. The determining of the adjusted fuel economy value determines the adjusted fuel economy value based on the fuel economy value and the modification factor.

  • Patent number: 8260534
Abstract: A vehicle occupant information controller includes a fuel volume determining section, a fuel economy determining section, a first distance determining section, a traveled distance determining section and a second distance determining section. The first distance determining section determines a first obtainable travel distance based on a remaining fuel volume from the fuel volume determining section and a fuel consumption rate from the fuel economy determining section. The traveled distance determining section determines a vehicle traveled distance between two locations.

  • Publication number: 20030199589
Abstract: Bis(Fluorophenyl)alkylamides have been chemically synthesized which possess beneficial pharmacological properties (e.g., anticonvulsant activity) useful for the treatment of neurological diseases or disorders, such as, for example, epilepsy, convulsions, and seizure disorders. The preferred compounds of the invention also cause little sedation and have high therapeutic and protective indices in animal models of epilepsy. These compounds further possess long pharmacologic half-lives, which, in practical clinical therapeutic application, should translate into once-a-day dosing, of great benefit to patients suffering from these diseases and/or disorders. These compounds may also be of further clinical utility in the treatment of other diseases and disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, or diseases or disorders affected by them, including, but not limited to, spasticity, skeletal muscle spasms and pain, restless leg syndrome, anxiety and stress, and bipolar disorder.
