The system preferably includes a dedicated server that houses a CPU, an array of high-capacity hard disk drives, and one or more suitable video graphics display controllers. The system preferably stripes video over the hard disk array, preferably in a stripped and uncompressed form so as to facilitate its high-speed output to a display means. Remote user access to one or more functions of the system is preferably provided by a network or web interface, and playback preferably may be controlled via an input device such as a jog/shuttle controller.
