  • Patent number: 9516701
Abstract: Disclosed is a warm window system that utilizes individual buss bars that are placed within the space between an inside window pane and an outside window pane and creates sufficient physical force to create an electrical contact on the tin oxide layer on the inside surface of the inside pane of glass. The buss bars have a modulus of elasticity to ensure sufficient electrical contact with the tin oxide layer to prevent the formation of hot spots and securely hold the buss bars in place. Both a z buss bar and c buss bar are also disclosed that are capable of generating a sufficient amount of reactive force to create a secure contact with a tin oxide layer on the interior surface of an interior pane of glass in a warm window system to hold the buss bar in place and provide a large contact surface area to provide sufficient electrical contact with the tin oxide layer to prevent hot spots.

Both a z buss bar and c buss bar are also disclosed that are capable of generating a sufficient amount of reactive force to create a secure electrical contact to minimize hotspots and to hold the buss bar in place. The buss bars provide a large contact surface area to provide sufficient electrical contact with the photovoltaic layer to prevent hot spots.

  • Publication number: 20090183432
Abstract: Disclosed is a two part hook and loop weatherstripping system in which one portion, such as the hook portion that is attached to a window frame and another portion such as the loop portion that is attached to the hook portion and includes a flexible material that may be compressible to provide a seal between a window sash and the window frame. The removable portion can be easily removed and cleaned or replaced with a new portion. Different thicknesses of the removable portion of the hook and loop weatherstripping allows various size gaps between a window frame and a sash to be easily filled. The use of two part hook and loop components incorporating a weatherstripping system provides for the components to be utilized in such a way so as to provide an overlap joint at all corners that restricts linear shrinkage and eliminates the holes that commonly materialize at the corners from shrinkage of single part weatherstripping systems.

  • Patent number: 7506475
Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-coil spring assembly that is mounted in the weight pocket of a vertically operating window. The multi-coil spring assembly allows the user to attach a desired number of multi-coil springs having chosen constant forces to the counterbalance connector to provide the desired amount of counterbalance force to the sash of a vertically operating window. The multi-coil spring assembly may be rotated into an interior portion of the window to permit straightforward attachment to the counterbalance connector and then retracted into the weight pocket in a recessed position for normal window operation.

  • Publication number: 20010042348
Abstract: A window screen system is described in which the screen or mesh periphery has secured to it a strip of hook and loop fastener material and the corresponding window frame has secured to it a mating strip of similar fastener material. The strip of fastener material on the outer edge of the mesh is aligned with and placed against the mating fastener strip which has been previously secured to the appropriate location on the window frame. Each side edge of the mesh can be stretched and then applied against the window frame, whereupon the mesh is held tightly in place on the window frame. No separate frame for the mesh is required. The mesh can be easily removed for cleaning, transport or storage.
