    Abstract: A method is disclosed of controlling a ground engineering apparatus including an elongate member for creating a bore at a predetermined position and orientation. The method includes receiving a plurality of positional information signals relating to the apparatus, processing the positional information signals to generate positional data including a representation of the position and orientation of the elongate member relative to the predetermined position and orientation of the bore; and outputting a control signal for aligning the elongate member with the predetermined position and orientation of the bore. A ground engineering apparatus, computer apparatus, drilling rig and piling rig are also disclosed.
