  • Patent number: 9636439
Abstract: A method and device for the treatment of an aneurysm are provided. Different therapeutic agents are delivered to the aneurysmal site by a reservoir and delivery means in a localized, and, in some embodiments, time-released regimen, to treat, limit and reduce the severity of the aneurysm.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 3, 2008
Date of Patent: May 2, 2017
    Assignee: Medtronic Vascular, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20100078035
Abstract: A self-extinguishing pipe is described for use with tobacco or other smoking material. The pipe is made in three parts; a body, depth control, and the bowl. The end piece includes a bowl for the tobacco or other smoking material at one end which has an adjustable base and locking mechanism for changing the depth of the bowl. The three-part construction and adjustable base facilitate cleaning of the pipe and removal of ash without needing additional tools. The depth of the bowl is adjusted by rotating the bowl piece in relation to the base of the pipe, like the “nut and bolt” concept. A bore throughout the body of the pipe and the components of the end piece communicate with each other. Together they form an air passage from the smoking material to the mouth end of the pipe. This allows smoke to be drawn in to the user's mouth and the depth of the bowl to be controlled at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20080015578
Abstract: An implantable device comprises at least one component composed of a bioabsorbable metal. The component has desirable structural/mechanical properties upon implant, and then begins to degrade at a time after implant, and is absorbed partially or completely over time.

  • Publication number: 20050051262
Abstract: An apparatus and method for retaining composite structures, such as composite honeycomb structures, during manufacture are provided. The composite structure is cured on a mandrel that defines a layup surface with a grip feature. The grip feature is configured to engage the composite structure during manufacture and retain the structure in a predetermined configuration. A film adhesive can be provided between the grip feature and a tiedown ply that extends from the composite structure.

  • Publication number: 20050004644
Abstract: Minimally invasive introducers and methods that can be used for rotationally securing devices within the human body. Introducers can include a distal element for releasably engaging a lead head controllable from a proximal control located outside of the body. An inner stem can extend between a proximal portion and a distal portion, and be pivotally and rotatably coupled to the distal lead engagement mechanism. An outer tube can be rotatably disposed over the inner stem and be flexibly coupled over the pivot to rotationally drive the distal element. A helical epicardial-myocardial lead electrode can be secured and oriented straight ahead and introduced through a port or small incision with the introducer in a straight configuration. The introducer can then be bent and rotated to screw the helical electrode into the heart.
