  • Patent number: 8176418
Abstract: A system for generating a summary of a plurality of documents and presenting the summary information to a user is provided which includes a computer readable document collection containing a plurality of related documents stored in electronic form. Documents can be pre-processed to group documents into document clusters. The document clusters can also be assigned to predetermined document categories for presentation to a user. A number of multiple document summarization engines are provided which generate summaries for specific classes of multiple documents clusters. A summarizer router is employed to determining a relationship of the documents in a cluster and select one of the document summarization engines for use in generating a summary of the cluster. A single event engine is provided to generate summaries of documents which are closely related temporally and to a specific event.

  • Patent number: 7739882
Abstract: A variable speed control system is provided for use with a heat pump heating/cooling system having a variable speed compressor. The control system includes a remote transceiver, a second transceiver to communicate with the first transceiver, and an AC power module to communicate with the second transceiver. The AC power module further includes multiple current limiting devices and multiple temperature sensors and varies the output of the variable speed compressor by comparing the readings from the temperature sensors to a pre-determined temperature setting.

  • Publication number: 20100127847
Abstract: In one embodiment, a vehicle includes a dashboard including one or more touchscreen displays; a wireless network interface; and multiple icons for presentation by one or more of the touchscreen displays to a user in the vehicle. Each of one or more of the icons is configurable by the user through tactile interaction with the icon via one or more of the touchscreen displays. Each of the icons when presented to the user makes accessible to the user through one or more of the touchscreen displays particular functionality. The vehicle includes software associated with the icons that is operable to render the icons on the touchscreen displays and implement their functionality.

  • Publication number: 20100111651
Abstract: A tactile wafer lifting apparatus includes a pedestal and a vertical drive connected to the pedestal. The vertical drive is defined to provide controlled upward and downward movement of the pedestal. The tactile wafer lifting apparatus also includes a wafer support member disposed over the pedestal. A tactile switch is disposed between the wafer support member and the pedestal such that sufficient downward force on the wafer support member causes activation of the tactile switch. The tactile switch is connected to the vertical drive so as to interrupt upward movement of the pedestal and wafer support member disposed thereover upon activation of the tactile switch.

  • Publication number: 20090018932
Abstract: An idea sharing community, particularly for marketing and branding, includes a database and an interface. The interface allows idea providers to upload creative idea proposals to the database. Idea users can search for idea proposals and purchase the idea proposals. The idea sharing community may include a brand interaction system in which brands may be presented with online discussion boards etc that allow users to upload creative ideas in respect of the brand.

  • Patent number: 7252230
Abstract: Systems and method for dynamically tracking assets located in different geographic zones are disclosed. Disclosed embodiments include a central zone hosting an inventory system. The inventory system is in network communication with remote zones that include sensors for interrogating tagged assets located in the zones. The inventory system is configured to poll the remote zones to obtain information regarding the tagged assets and store the information in a database. The inventory system may then determine whether any of the received information deviates from an expected result, and take appropriate action in response to the deviation.

  • Publication number: 20070088431
Abstract: A heart valve delivery system is provided wherein a prosthetic valve is carried on a valve catheter inside a delivery sleeve. A step balloon protrudes from the delivery sleeve and provides a tapered surface for facilitating advancement through a body vessel. The step balloon also aids in crossing the leaflets of a native valve. After the prosthetic valve is positioned within the native valve, the delivery sleeve is retracted to expose the prosthetic valve. In one embodiment, the delivery sleeve is retracted by the use of a lead screw, which effectuates relative movement between the valve catheter and delivery sleeve. The prosthetic valve is preferably self-expandable. If necessary, the step balloon may be expanded to securely seat the prosthetic valve at the site of the native valve.
