  • Patent number: 8981560
Abstract: A method and structure for fabricating sensor(s) or electronic device(s) using vertical mounting with interconnections. The method includes providing a resulting device including at least one sensor or electronic device, formed on a die member, having contact region(s) with one or more conductive materials formed thereon. The resulting device can then be singulated within a vicinity of the contact region(s) to form one or more singulated dies, each having a singulated surface region. The singulated die(s) can be coupled to a substrate member, having a first surface region, such that the singulated surface region(s) of the singulated die(s) are coupled to a portion of the first surface region. Interconnections can be formed between the die(s) and the substrate member with conductive adhesives, solder processes, or other conductive bonding processes.

  • Publication number: 20150058017
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are systems, methods, devices, and machine readable mediums which may produce an audio recording with included verification from the individuals in the recording that the recording is accurate. In some examples, the system may also provide rights management control to those individuals. This may ensure that individuals participating in audio events that are to be recorded are assured that their words are not changed, taken out of context, or otherwise altered and that they retain control over the use of their words even after the physical file has left their control.

  • Publication number: 20120058695
Abstract: The invention generally relates to a safety flotation buoy system. One embodiment of the present invention relates to a buoy system comprising a designation member and a buoyancy structure coupled to the designation member. The designation member may include a cylindrically shaped flexible rubber region and a lengthwise opening. The opening may be oriented substantially normal to the water surface. The lengthwise orientation of the buoyancy structure may be aligned with the opening of the designation member. The buoyancy structure may be configured to be submerged below the designation member and the water surface so as to enable the formation of an air bubble within an internal region of the designation member.

  • Patent number: 7551400
Abstract: An apparatus, method and combination for dissipating vibration from a head suspension of a data storage device. The combination includes a rotating disc in a data exchange relationship with a read/write head supported by a head suspension formed by the method. The method includes the steps of; forming a mounting region and a load beam region each adjacent a bend region; removing material from the bend region to form an aperture, a strut, an isolation aperture and a damping material support structure; and affixing a damping material to the strut and the damping material support structure. The apparatus includes the bend region adjacent both the mounting region and the load beam region, with the damping material attached to the strut as well as to the damping material support structure. The load beam region includes a rigid portion, which supports a flexure upon which a read/write head is attached.

  • Patent number: 7355818
Abstract: A method for attaching a printed circuit card assembly to an actuator assembly in a disc drive comprises forming one or more pins integrally with the actuator assembly, inserting each pin through a corresponding pin opening in the printed circuit card assembly, and attaching the pins to the printed circuit card assembly. The pins may be attached to the printed circuit card assembly by a soldering process, or alternatively, pressure may be applied to a top surface of the pins to cause them to deform over the printed circuit card assembly, thereby securing the printed circuit card assembly to the actuator assembly. A disc drive in accordance with a preferred embodiment of this invention has an actuator assembly with one or more integral pins and a printed circuit card assembly attached to the integral pins.

  • Patent number: 7068038
Abstract: A 240 volt outlet tester is described. The 240 volt outlet tester includes a housing with three or four prongs extending outwardly from a base of the housing. The prongs are designed so that they can be inserted into either a three or four wire 240 volt outlet. Indicator lights are integrated into the housing. A test circuit is located within the housing. The test circuit is designed to detect whether the 240 volt outlet has been wired correctly. If the 240 volt outlet is correctly wired, all the indicator lights integrated into the housing illuminate. If the 240 volt outlet is improperly wired, one or more indicator lights do not illuminate.

  • Patent number: 6404596
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method for an improved actuator arm assembly in a disc drive. This invention results from the realization that structurally inferior actuator assemblies create low frequency, high amplitude resonances. This invention reduces resonances through the utilization of a voice coil motor overmolding technique that additionally incorporates a stiffening member to increase the rigidity of the actuator assembly.

  • Patent number: 6252745
Abstract: A resilient linear latch and crash stop device incorporates a magnetic latch and a linear impact absorbing crash stop into a single composite body made up of a magnet member for contacting a strike plate on the actuator arm, an energy absorbing member, and a latch base body assembled together. The energy absorbing member fastens the magnet member to the base body and absorbs impact energy in a generally linear fashion throughout the range of anticipated impact magnitudes. The energy absorbing member is a generally rectangular elastomeric bellows member formed in place and sandwiched between the magnetic mounting plate and the base body. The elastomeric bellows member has a vertically open tubular passage therethrough that preferably has a bell shaped horizontal cross sectional shape.
