    Abstract: Apparatuses for monitoring power tong operation are disclosed. The apparatus comprising: a sealed enclosure housing a computer and a battery; a torque sensor connected to send signals to the computer; and a turns counter connected to send signals to the computer; in which the battery is connected to supply power to the computer, the torque sensor, and the turns counter. An external display may be connected to receive display signals from the computer. The computer may be a microcontroller with a central processing unit, a motherboard, and a memory unit.
