Abstract: A handheld dehider with cutting discs or blades to remove the hide of a carcass and/or cut the carcass in a meat processing facility. Cutting discs of the handheld dehider are designed to form minute circular (micro) segments and grooves extending radially outwards in a ring pattern to reduce grinding, filing, and vibrations against the handheld dehider blade housing. The cutting discs abut portions of the blade housing cover, and in doing so, during the break-in period, circularly projecting segments on the outwardly exposed face of each cutting disc have less surface area exposed to the contact surface at the cutting disc/blade housing cover interface than radially projecting segments.
