  • Publication number: 20240083063
Abstract: A method for setting an axial position and gap dimension of a gap between one or more score blades and an anvil shaft of a rotary scoring device, includes providing a control system including a controller, at least one sensor, and at least one adjusting device actuated by the control system, and actuating the at least one adjusting device in response to the at least one sensor sensing a deviation from a desired state, thereby setting the axial position or the gap dimension between the one or more score blades and the anvil shaft. The method further includes actuating the at least one adjusting device is achieved as a result of the control system operating in a closed feedback loop, and sensing by the at least one sensor occurring with or without disruption of operation of the rotary scoring device.

  • Patent number: 11151537
Abstract: A program for running on a processor of a portable payment device is adapted for carrying out a payment interaction and permitting ticket storage in a memory of the portable payment device. The program is configured to interact with an access point and includes a set of instructions, a first code portion and a second code portion. The set of instructions, when executed by the processor, causes the portable payment device to perform the steps of: responsive to a first message from said access point, executing the first code portion; and responsive to a second message from the access point, executing the second code portion. The first code portion includes first instructions corresponding to the payment interaction. The second code portion includes instructions corresponding to the payment interaction and second instructions corresponding to the ticket interaction.

  • Publication number: 20150220917
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are provided for verifying tokens using limited-use certificates. For example, a user device can send a token request to a token provider computer, and receive in response a token and a token certificate associated with the token. The token certificate may include, for example, a hash of the token and a digital signature by the token provider computer or another trusted entity. The user device can provide the token and the token certificate to an access device. The access device can verify the token using the token certificate, and verify the token certificate using a digital signature. In some cases, the token and token certificate may be verified offline. The access device can then conduct a transaction using the token.

  • Publication number: 20090287578
Abstract: This invention is a pay charging station for electric and plugin hybrid vehicles. A vehicle parks at a space with the charging station and uses a credit card, debit card, cash, smart card or network connection to a database like EZ-Pass to pay for the space and the electricity. The station automatically charges the vehicle as long as it is connected to the station. The station automatically stops charging when the vehicle is fully charged. The customer only pays for the space and the electricity consumed. If the charging circuit is broken the customer must reinsert the smart card or credit card to restart charging. Sufficient funds are removed from the payment method on initiation of charging. Any money not used for charging is returned to the funding account upon the user reinserting the smart card, credit card or debit card, or cash change is returned if cash was the method of payment.

  • Publication number: 20080076100
Abstract: A portable medical simulation system and method employs an artificial patient with a built-in haptic interface device, with up to four carriages for engaging different diameter catheters. A catheter stabilizer between each carriage expands and contracts in an accordion fashion as the carriages move in relation to each other, preventing the catheter from bending and bowing. A contrast display visual effect derived from a particle emitter software tool simulates the release of radiopaque dye within a simulated vasculature system for display on a monitor. A computer software based system is used for generating haptic effects on the catheter through control signals passed to each of the carriage motors controlling translation movement of the catheter and magnetic particle brakes controlling rotational movement of the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20060026035
Abstract: A computer aided interactive medical management information and control system and method includes one or more devices and a computing platform and associated software that assists the health care provider in performing a treatment on a patient. Output information of equipment relevant to performing the treatment is integrated with reference databases of best demonstrated practices, similar cases, industry guidelines, and procedure and equipment trouble shooting. The present invention can also serve as a remote control for networked medical equipment and provide data for the patient record. The health care provider is able to immediately access emergency procedures and/or be voice and/or video linked to other institutions and personnel for consultation while performing the treatment. Diagnostic systems information may be combined with current patient information and analyzed to provide real time guidance and alerts for adverse events, and provide references for managing critical stages of the treatment.

  • Patent number: 6918771
Abstract: A simulation method and system based on a distributive processing model is used for training and educating healthcare teams. The system allows team members to be at the training facility or located remotely and connected via data communication links. The system allows multiple participants for individual team member roles at various connected simulation workstations. If simulation participants cannot man all the team roles, the system can provide virtual team members in their stead. The simulation server computer delivers to each workstation the particular programs and outputs required for any given simulation exercise.
