Abstract: Permanent magnet electric generators and methods of generating electrical energy are provided. The generators include two rack assemblies each including concentric circular cylindrical cores having circular arrangements of permanent magnets and electrical conductors. The two rack assemblies are axially engaged wherein magnets of the concentric circular cylindrical cores repel adjacent magnets and thereby rotate the cylindrical cores. The rotation of the adjacent magnets in the cores induces an electric current within the electrical conductors, which can be extracted and used in a broad range of applications. Various mechanisms adapted to engage and disengage the two rack assemblies are provided, including the introduction of a vacuum into the generator housing. Methods of generating electrical energy and electrical cores having permanent magnets and conductors are also disclosed.

Abstract: Solar radiation concentrators, methods of concentrating solar radiation and solar radiation concentrating prism lenses are provided. The solar concentrators and methods employ an array of prism lenses. The prism lenses are made from a solar radiation transmissible material and have converging planar sides, for example, at least 3 sides, for instance, 6 sides. The planar sides the prism lenses define a refractive surface positioned to receive and refract incident solar radiation and direct at least some of the incident radiation upon a target, for example, a solar cell. The concentrator and methods may also include reflective surfaces, such as, provided by an array of reflective cavities. The reflective surfaces enhance the directing of radiation upon the target. Light diffusers and methods of fabricating solar radiation concentrators and diffusers are also disclosed.
