  • Patent number: 7351657
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for selective removal of a conformal coating from the solder balls of grid array packages such that the benefits of the coating are realized. An ancillary benefit of the invention is improved process-ability of the grid array package by improving the mechanical containment of the solder during the reflow process and improved electrical isolation between the individual solder attachment points. For example, a method for coating a ball grid array is provided, which includes coating the ball grid array with a thin layer of parylene. Next, the solder ball side of the part is butter smeared or squeegeed with a water soluble coating and assembled wet. A mask having holes in the same pattern as the balls in the grid, and a thickness that is about 80% of the height of the balls, is applied to the solder ball side of the part. This side of the part is then butter smeared again with the water soluble coating, and the entire assembly is allowed to dry.

  • Publication number: 20070251671
Abstract: A heat exchanger comprises a stack of mutually spaced apart plates. The plates are separated by respective spacings therebetween. Alternate spacings respectively provide a flow path for a first fluid and a second fluid. The heat exchanger further comprises a first header for inflow of the first fluid and a second header for outflow of the first fluid. The first and second headers are connected to the plate stack by flexible tubular ducting means.

  • Publication number: 20050237730
Abstract: An emergency running light for vehicles such as watercraft includes a cup-shaped housing made of a transparent, thin flexible wall which defines a cup-shaped interior chamber. A liquid component of a two-component chemiluminescent compound and a breakable capsule containing a second component thereof are disposed within the interior chamber. The running light is activated to produce a predetermined color of light by squeezing the flexible housing to break the container. This causes the first and second component liquids to form the chemiluminescent compound and resulting light. The housing is attachable to a surface of the watercraft following activation using an adhesive ring which engages a flat rim of the housing. Alternatively, the housing may be attached to a post-mounted running light of the watercraft which fits within an interior recess of the housing and attached using an adhesive disk.

  • Patent number: 6948126
Abstract: A system supports the use of information pointers. The information pointers provide audio and/or visual information about objects to which the cursors point. For instance, an information cursor may provide output specifying the name of an object to which the cursor points. In addition to information about the object pointed to by the cursor, information windows provide information about the user's interaction with the object. For example, “Deleting Source File.” Information windows may contain information pertaining to a pair of objects, such as the source and target object in a drag and drop operation, or to a collection of objects.

  • Publication number: 20050136052
Abstract: A method for reducing gastrointestinal inflammation, enhancing growth, or improving feed efficiency in a human or non-human animal is disclosed. The method involves administering to the animal an agent that can reduce the formation of the signal transduction complex of endotoxin, TLR4 and CD14 on the cellular surface of a cell in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal. In a preferred embodiment, an antibody against the extracellular domain of TLR4 or CD14 is used to reduce the formation of the complex. A composition that contains the antibody and an ingestible carrier is also disclosed. • Patent number: 6848118
Abstract: A product and process involve providing customized pullover jackets, units of which are characterized by (1) pullover body construction units of a type having a fabric configuration that facilitates slipping over the head and shoulders; and (2) decorative band construction units of a type having distinguishable color and design for affixation to said pullover body construction. The process comprises acquiring a relatively small inventory of body construction units of different sizes, acquiring a relatively large inventory of band construction units of different colors or designs, and receiving and fulfilling orders for the customized pullover jackets from customers. The body construction units account for the major component of unit cost. The band construction units account for a minor component of unit cost. The customized jackets are assembled by joining mating fasteners on the upper and lower edges of selected band construction and corresponding upper and lower points on selected body constructions.

  • Publication number: 20040068436
Abstract: A system and method for influencing position of information tags as displayed spatially or temporally is disclosed. The system and method allow information providers the ability to influence position of their information tags by auctioning directory search terms associated with the information tag, and then ranking the displaying the information tags based upon the information provider's bid amount from the auction. The information tags then allow consumers access to information maintained on the same web site as the information tag. The system and method allows targeting of specific markets and facilitates a novel method of marketing through a communication network, such as the Internet. The method also allows for novel management of web-based advertising accounts and budgeting of information provider funds.

  • Patent number: 6664979
Abstract: A computer system having a video display runs an operating system that provides a desktop environment to a user and a file system. The desktop environment has associated systems settings that affect the desktop environment. In this method, a first set of values for at least a portion of the system settings are stored in a storage device in a computer network so that the first set of values is visible in the file system. A second set of values, for the same portion of the system settings for which values are stored in the first set of values, is also stored in the storage device such that the second set of values is visible in the file system. In response to a choice by the user between the first set of values and the second set of values, the system settings are updated to have the values specified by the chosen set of values.
