  • Publication number: 20170136384
Abstract: An accelerated vapor recompression apparatus 10 converts incoming flow 35a to a concentrate 35c by developing a concentration profile 146 within a tank 30 holding a liquid 23 containing dissolved solids. The resulting curve 160 of saturation temperature of the stratified liquid 23 (such as a brine 23 or other material 23) moves away from the curve 162 corresponding to fully mixed conditions. The shift 174, 180 in saturation temperature results in increased boiling without increased energy from a heater 70 or compressor 50. A method 90, 200 of control of the system provides interventions 203, 204, 205, 206 at different levels 92, 94, 96, 98 of control, ranging from mass flows 35 to work of a compressor 50, heat from a heater 70, and a predictive processing 215 of feedback 217 for controlling commands 216 algorithmically.

  • Publication number: 20170109673
Abstract: A system includes transportation vehicles within a facility, an equipment controller, and a communication unit. The communication unit receives signals indicative of component locations within the facility, vehicle locations within the facility, and/or allocation requests for at least one of the components. The equipment controller schedules enactment of the allocation requests based on designated times associated with operations involved in the enactment of the allocation requests and monitors capacities of the transportation vehicles to carry the components within the facility while the transportation vehicles enact the allocation requests. The equipment controller generates signals for movement control of the transportation vehicles in order to combine the components for the allocation requests in at least one of the transportation vehicles.

  • Patent number: 9622545
Abstract: The technology disclosed herein includes a dual-molded layer overshoe apparatus comprising a cleat, a sole layer configured to receive the cleat, and an upper layer, wherein the upper is molded to the sole layer and the upper layer has a lower durometer than the sole layer, and wherein the plurality of pin plates are secured between the sole layer and the upper layer. Significant elasticity in the upper layer allows stretch for installation and removal. Reduced elasticity in the sole layer offers greater durability in terms of spike retention and abrasion resistance. In one implementation, the components are assembled in one contiguous, fixed arrangement, wherein the cleat is molded into the sole layer, and the upper layer is then molded to the sole layer.

  • Publication number: 20170056787
Abstract: A tank system may be conventional and fixed, or mobile, such as a fracking fluid or other tank trailer. A drain port thereof is fitted with an adapter connecting a snorkel system to drain liquids from near the top of the liquid level in the tank. A snorkel head at the extreme distal end of a tube near the longitudinal center of the tank is suspended by a system of buoys. A flow field controller plate resists formation of vortices near the snorkel head, so it can operate as near the surface as possible, withdrawing the highest grade oil efficiently. At its exit, the proximal end of the tube drains oil through an inner conduit of an adapter at a penetration in the wall of the tank. The adapter forms an annulus around the inner conduit draining tank bottoms directly from the tank.

  • Patent number: 9569670
Abstract: A method for destination and duration of stay determination in a geographically bounded area such as a smart home includes detecting movement by an identified individual in an origination location of a geographically bounded area and retrieving a contemporaneously generated pattern of movement for the individual. The method additionally includes comparing the pattern for the identified individual to a set of patterns in a pattern data store and predicting from a matching pattern both a destination location in the geographically bounded area and a duration of time at which the identified individual is to remain at the destination location. Finally, the method includes directing activation of a fixture at the destination location responsive to predicting the destination location, and directing deactivation of a fixture at the origination location responsive to predicting a duration of time that exceeds a threshold value.
