  • Publication number: 20130339164
Abstract: A method for adapting the amount of predial delay in a terminal, such as an automatic teller machine (ATM) system, based upon actual connection times with a host over a telecommunications network experienced by the ATM in a particular installation. The ATM may adjust the point in the customer transaction process at which it initiates a connection with a host in order to decrease the wait time experienced by a customer while a connection with the host is established, as well as wait time by the host after a connection is established while a transaction request message is being prepared.

  • Patent number: 7536831
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus having a base, a shaft, a swivel joint assembly and plural stories. The base is fixed relative to the ground. The shaft extends vertically through the apparatus. The shaft is mounted to the base. The swivel joint assembly is mounted in the base coaxially with the shaft. The swivel joint rotatably connects fixed utility lines extending into the base with corresponding utility lines secured within the apparatus. Each of the plural stories defines an enclosed living area and is rotatably supported, at least in part, via the shaft. Each story has a drive mechanism adapted to rotate the story about the shaft at a speed controllable within the story.

  • Patent number: 6222558
Abstract: The simultaneous, real time graphical information is shared between two or more intelligent work stations linked together in conversation via a network. Transmission of the essence of a graphical image is accomplished by fixed and variable length portions. The fixed portion describes the type of command and the size or length of the variable length portion. The variable length portion describes the detailed information need to properly process. Thus, the complete length of data is known a priori. While a network is constipated or congested and a drawing operation is being performed by a user, the communication endpoints are configured as non-blocking, commands are stored in a FIFO (first-in, first-out) queue, and the operating system reports how much of the drawing operation was transferred. After the network becomes unconstipated, writing of any partially written command or stored commands in the queue are completed. The graphical image may be displayed in a window or canvas designated for drawing.

  • Patent number: 5779545
Abstract: A gaming system is provided in which a central computer broadcasts a plurality of random number seeds serially for simultaneous receipt of each seed by a plurality of gaming terminals. Each gaming terminal uses the seed to generate a random number which determines the win/loss outcome. Two terminals configured to play the same game which receive the same random number seed will generate the same random number.

  • Patent number: 4221399
Abstract: A lower draft arm extension link stop in a tubular member of a lower draft arm of a three-point hitch for engaging the extension link in its extended position. The extension link is provided with a relief portion which clears the stop when the link is angular inclined so that it can be withdrawn from the tubular member. The tubular member includes a latch, axially aligned with the stop, for holding the link in its contracted position.
